Very good Cam game off the bench, 17pts, 5 assists, 4 rebs and some clutch baskets in the 4th when the game was still in the balance. Mavs announcers were complimentary of his skillset
The dude just knows how to hoop! So cool following his grind,

Man imagine if we got Nick Timberlake…😂

I would have to say better but I really don't have a good handle on that. It doesn't have the very high level future NBA players that DI has but how many DI players make the NBA every year? 30 or so? G League is the next level players which are better than most DI players. So overall I'd say the G League level of play is better. But that's just my guess.

It's an interesting question. Keep in mind that in any given year there are probably 100+ future NBA players in college, but those are spread out over the 300+ teams (though congregated at some schools over others). The G-League 100% has fewer future "star" NBA players than college and likely fewer starters/rotation NBA players but has way more guys that could be end of the roster guys per team.

The coaching in the G-League also varies quite a bit, but so does college.

I'd say if you take the top 30 college programs and made a league of just those teams the quality would be higher than the G-League but that isn't the case.

Giannis was out last night so Andre got a lot of minutes, 28 off the bench

Finished with 6 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals. 2-6 from the field and 1-3 from three. I personally don’t care for the bad %, and am encouraged that he took so many shots

Shooting form looks a bit cleaner?

Decisive attack and a nice floater that isn’t the ugly push shot

Just read a funny story. Cam had a good game for the Grizzlies, when they beat the Mavs 102-96 Saturday night (17points, 6/10 FG, 3/5 3PT, 5 assists). Apparently Cam was being interviewed on-court after the game, when Ja (injured and in street clothes), who had been chirping throughout the game at Klay, interrupts and says, “Tell ‘em who the best shooter in the house was, it wasn’t bro from Golden State.” Thompson overheard this and had some words with Ja, and they had to be separated.

The latest is that Morant WASN'T referring to Thompson, as everyone assumed. No, now it’s being reported that he was referring to PAT SPENCER, who’s on Golden State!

Clingan with a modest but solid game: 8/8/2 dimes/2 blocks (2-4 from 3). Portland was up against the buzzsaw that is OKC and got....well, sliced and diced. But Clingan logged a +2 +/-.

Called me shocked at how good Kneuppel has turned out. 28 last night on 7-11 3 pt shooting. He’s averaging almost 20 a game and shooting 44% from three, and easy front runner for ROY as of now. Scheyer had the best two players in America last year and could not with a NC.

I love Kon and I gotta say I’m not stunned. He’s so fundamentally sound, he’s perfect for Charlotte because most of the rest of their “stars” aren’t.

He just always makes the right play like he’s doing a coaching video tutorial. I wonder if 2 college playing parents and an uncle has something to do with it? lol.

The NBA becoming a finesse shooting league really crushed Andre's career. Dude is arguably the best rebounder ever. That shouldn't make you a bench player at 26/27 years old.
If he had started his career in the early 90's, would have had a much different career arc. Owell, still good to see he's grinding well over a decade into his career!

if he could have defended at a higher level he would have remained a starter and been more than fine

I’m the biggest Drummond fan you’ll find, but he just had too many weak points in his game. He was never a great post defender, he is a great defensive big in space but not down low.

He never really figured out how to finish efficiently, he never learned a go-to move/never was post-efficient. Obviously free throws have always been an issue.

But, he has stuck because he has expanded his game step by step and is, as you said, potentially the best rebounder ever.

Wouldn't call him a great defender in space at all because he use to get routinely lost in pick and roll coverage, that Lakers vs Suns series from a few years ago when Anthony Davis got hurt pretty much ended the idea of him being a starter on a team with high stakes involved. Bron was visibly disgusted with him on several instances for his defense.

He was a great defender for a big in space, especially with his switchability. He has great hands too, he was always near the top of the league in deflections and steal rate.

Absolutely. Not sure about any all-star appearances in the early and mid 90's because there were so many Hall of Fame centers- Hakeem, Shaq, Robinson, Ewing, Mourning, Mutombo but very late 90's-2000's and the 1980's he would've been a perennial all-star, IMO.

I give him credit for just taking the role that's given to him and still rebounding like a madman despite the league changing from right under his feet. Dude has averaged over 10 rebounds per game every single season he got 21 minutes per game of playing time, that's insane.

bigs who are great defenders in space don't get benched because of their defense
