Steph did great work in the first half and then pretty much nothing in the second. Was
Puzzling to watch.

Also. San Antonio’s second team could the worst ever. They were clueless out there
That's on the coach, he took Castle out when the game was in the balance and then put him back in when it was a blowout.

Was their best player and played 25 mins, it was mind boggling.

That game went from tied with 3 minutes left in the 3rd to a 30 point blowout in the blink of an eye. That was crazy.

Good first shift for Castle today. Five points, 2-3 shooting including a 3. Also he’s face guarding Herro all over the court and has him 0-2 with a contested three and an air ball on a contested runner.

Kinda faded after the good start. He has so much room for improvement (of course he just turned 20, so to be expected). Every time I watch he leaves 6-8 points on the table by not finishing open five footers and being weak around the rim. He’s an enigma that way - he can show great strength on some drives and then be really weak on others and not even get the ball on the rim. A couple years of weight training and he’ll be more apt to finish well.

Spurs completely fell apart again. Up 15 and now down 25. They are kind of mentally weak and have a lot of bad shot takers.

Funny game for Steph. 12/4/1 on efficient %s but also 4 TOs.
A little unlucky on two of them. Wemby had both hands on a ball and was stripped by a double team from Duncan Robinson - but Wemby never really got full possession so Castle getting the to is fair … but stronger hands from Wemby would have prevented it. Then he threw an alley to a back up big (Bassey) who really should have caught it.

One in the third was another alley attempt where he should have taken the open 5 footer - but a defender guessed pass and deflected it. He had missed that little floater a couple of times - so it was a good guess. Live I actually thought he shot the ball (a little push shot) and thought it was a clear goaltend - but played it back and he put it just wide of the rim as a pass and the defender “blocked” it.

Later in his career the defenders might need to respect his shot a little more.

I never noticed how enormous Adam Silver's ears are. He looks like he's about to take flight.
Give it a few years. They claim that ears never stop growing

He has some great dunks this year. He has great athleticism
Steph has like 2-3 dunks in his dunk package. The two hand monster dunks are emphatic for in-game dunks but those aren't dunk contest dunks, when I think of dunk contest dunkers Steph would be far down my list. But again, that's where the dunk contest is at in 2025.

Didn’t know Steph had THIS much athleticism. Congrats to him! Will be fun to watch one of ours on the big stage.

Love it - Steph leading the charge of UConn marketing in the NBA. Get that jumper going, win a title with Wemb, world is oyster.

I've always felt Ajax was made for the dunk contest, he can reach the top of the back board and I'm convinced he can dunk from the ft line. Ajax could let that old Dr J Afro out.
Now HE could be a dunk contest guy.

I’ve been so impressed how many dunks he’s had in the half court. That’s a true sign of basketball athleticism. He seems to be getting even more explosive. With that said, I don’t see him as a dunk contest guy

Glad to see Steph get in the contest.
I think most UConn fans would take Andre over Steph in a dunk contest.

Glad he’s doing it for the sake of visibility. He won’t win, but if he doesn’t embarrass himself, it’s a net positive. Bring Wemby out for an assist.

I agree about the Wemby stuff. He’s a unicorn, but at some point shooting is just shooting.
Not much point in being 7’4 if you’re doing stuff 6’4 guys can do and not the things 7’4 guys can do.
