But but
That’s a soft ass and poor blocking technique from today’s big man. Never learn how to play fundamentals of defense.

I'm gong to go ahead and tell you that if Wemby's help defense lacks fundamentals, then we need to entirely reevaluate what the fundamentals are.

Steph is must-watch TV tonight.

One of the strangest things I've ever seen in player evaluations was how Castle got tagged with the not much of an athlete label by some scouts last year. Dude is a great athlete.

He's just so skilled and controlled he doesn't need to use it. His playstyle doesn't require freak athleticism, so when he lulls it out, it surprises defenders and he does stuff like those dunks

True. He's not a freak like Ja Morant or D Rose pre injury but when you look at the really good and great guards and small forwards around the league he stacks up with them and his change of pace is already elite. He has the game figured out already like very few young American players do. All that's missing is the consistent jumper/three pointer. Once he gets that it's a wrap.

This is maybe my 5th Spurs game of the year and I agree with those saying that Wemby isn't really must watch TV. He's amazing... but really no excitement to his offense at all.
He’s brutal to watch pretty often. Tonight is one of those nights.

Which is kind of interesting because his %s are actually way better than his average tonight and has 5 blocks on d.

I think it's just that there's nothing acrobatic about him. He's an alien, not a normally proportioned dude doing amazing things we can relate to.

Yeah he can hit that floater and dunk over everyone bc his size is ridiculous. But je's just awkward looking out there despite the brilliance.

Everything is labored, slow moving and not really in rhythm. He becomes a black hole on offense a lot. He doesn’t move off ball really either.

He's like 8 feet tall and plays like a guard so things will look awkward at times but I think he's pretty amazing to watch.

He’s amazing to watch because he is so unique. When he’s on it’s wonderful but he is often not and it’s tough to watch him out there.

I like watchin him for about 15 mins. Past that, Jokic/Tatum/Edwards etc. interest me more

I know what you're saying and I agree. I get that he plays finesse because of his build and skills but he's simply too perimeter oriented. With his freakish length his performance shouldn't be dependent on whether he's hot with his outside shot and floaters. They need to get him closer to the hoop.

I think an underrated part of why NBA interest is down is because of it's stars. The last 6 seasons the MVP's have been players born outside of America and it doesn't look like there will be an American born MVP any time soon. Jokic and SGA will most likely win the next few. Wemby will then win some.

It doesn't bother me one bit but I think people desperately want Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe, Lebron and the league doesn't have it.

In his last three games, Castle is averaging 23 points on 54% shooting!

How is it even possible that a guy who plays 25 minutes is a -4 in a 28 point loss?

Hawkins also definitely isn’t fully out of his funk, but has put together a couple solid games recently.

He’s been plenty net- this season on the flipside. Let’s hope he keeps it up.

Silver is commish by day vampire by night.

Really reminds me of peak Laveon Bell if we're doing cross-sport comparisons. He never really blew you away with pure speed, but was patient with his running and let the play develop in front of him to find the holes. Though he of course flexed his athleticism once he hit the holes.

Area 51 is such a cool nickname for Castle and Wemby

Steph did great work in the first half and then pretty much nothing in the second. Was
Puzzling to watch.

Also. San Antonio’s second team could the worst ever. They were clueless out there
