A few of our hitters are swinging a bit too bit for situational hitting.

shoulda bunted him over with no outs.. would have been a SAC for the go ahead.

their pitcher also seems to be grooving first pitch strikes. Someone's gotta jump on those.
He has 60 pitches. Should be better

Too much of a common theme from the entire regular season is playing out tonight. Need to find a way to get that clutch hit

I don't think it's questionable, he's clearly calling two different strike zones.
It was clear we were in for a tough night with the ump when he warned us after our 1st inning home run for chirping when it was just our guys celebrating a huge HR. Happens every game in college baseball and we got a warning after that?

But again, that is what you have to expect in a NCAA regional in the ACC/SEC/B12 against the home team. Absolutely no surprise here…this is the norm.

Top 6th, Ellisen gives up a 1 out single followed by a walk. Ellisen comes out of the game, Finnegan takes the mound to face a lefty batter.

Finnegan gives up a walk to load the bases with 1 out, and then gets a strikeout for the 2nd out, and a groundout for the final out to end the inning with no runs coming in. Game tied at 3.

Quick questions for ya:

Did the umpire strike out with the bases loaded in the first?

Did the umpire pop up with the bases loaded in the second?

worry about what you can control.

Another failure to execute a fundamental play there. Damn. This team isn’t good enough to not take outs when they’re given to you.

He's just not doing well with guys on base. Looks totally distracted. And a really slow delivery.

This ump is bull dung that was a strike out, lucky to get the play at second

Great job by Finnergan. But while I’ve stayed out of the “we’re being cheated” debate, because it’s useless, it’s now clear that both the UConn team and the TV announcers know we’re being cheated with different strike zones.

For God sakes, let’s get a run here.

My career ended 20 years ago….I’m just a fan now. So I can’t control any of it. So I have no problem pointing out the obvious home town umps…but again, that is expected in the NCAAs.

And yes, we choked away many opportunities as well.

But doesn’t change the fact that our pitchers jobs are much tougher on the road in the regionals.

Although if you think this is bad…just wait until the Super Regionals in Tallahassee next weekend if we win this regional. It will make this seem like nothing! It that is a problem I’d love to have.

Pitchers killing me with free passes. They’ve been pretty lucky most of the time to get away with it.
