Used to go

Man alive, watched quite a few games in that rink...swear to God, when the wind blew...I get cold thinking about it!!!!!!!

Huge home and home with Bentley....must do everything possible to make sure Cav stays-great selection
Warde to lead us into Hockey East!!!!!!!

The open aire rink was a great place to play hockey. (as a junior hockey player, I played there a few times) Who knew then that UConn would be in a big time hockey league.

The split wasn't good...but it wasn't bad. They need 12 pts in their final 6 league games vs Holy Cross, Army, and Sacred Heart. A win Tues vs PC would be gravy!!!

On the one hand, you could make a case that UConn is finsihing their toughest stretch of the season, 6 games against the top 3 teams in the league (well, 3 of the top 4. Huskies are #3). And 5 of those were on the road. They finished 2-2-2. On the other hand they had a chance to really take control and they didn't do that. On the other hand, with the way they dominated Bentley Friday, I went home confident that they would continue to play just as well Saturday at Bentley. This is the 2nd week in a row they've played really well on Friday and no so well on Saturday. They need to step it up and focus every game the rest of the way.

We need open air tournament or a men's and women's game at the Rent.

It's a good idea. Went when they did it in 2011... just need someone to foot the bill. Last time it was the former Hartford Whalers group.

Well that sucked...

I win on Tuesday could make me forget tonight. ;)
Don't worry, I put the students in their place at the JAR. ;) They sure were loud.

Great weekend, went to both games. Too bad we lost the second. People can say whatever they want about the AHA but what a fun conference it's been. I believe many of these programs will grow in time.

We're in fourth place. Air Force is ahead now. The game at Bentley was a repeat of what Bentley did at UConn, made mistakes that led to goals that put us in a hole. The score doesn't reflect the quality of play at Bentley. Slobberknocker series. He who made the least mistakes wins.

Butch,
I think we're tied with Air Force. We really dominated Friday night which is why Saturday was so disappointing when I heard the score. Glad to hear it was closer than it looked.

I have to say I agree with you about Atlantic Hockey, too. It is a fun league where everyone has a chance against everyone and there are a bunch of teams that really are pretty solid hockey clubs. I'm looking forward to Hockey East in a big way, but I enjoyed watching ht egrowth of Atlantic Hockey.

We "dominated" partly because of power plays. Bentley has a solid squad this year. You are correct, we are tied for 3rd. Winning at Bentley sure would have been nice. Bentley also has one of the best business schools in the country. I say we continue our series with them. They will have a new rink.

Anyone going to Providence tonight? Carpool? Interested in going.

Just went online to listen to the PC game...to hear Billy Latta score on a break away...3-1 UCONN!!!!!

UConn holds on to beat #9 Providence 3-2 despite facing 58 shots!

Looks like Warde found himself a hockey coach in Cavanaugh.
Cav has this team playing good puck. This is a really nice win against a top 10 team...BUT they need to finish strong and take 6 AHA games & 12 pts from Holy Cross, Army and Sacred Heart.

For those of you who haven't made it to a game, well worth the price of admission. From what I understand, first year that schollies were offered. Team has only 4 seniors and understand a ton of impressive recruits lined up and very anxious to play in HE next year.

Cav is going to be enjoyable to watch develope this program!!! The opening of this presser makes it easy to see why Warde hired him!!!

Yup... Pissed they didn't sweep Bentley and used it.

Cavanaugh pulled off a great move in removing the previously undefeated younger goalie on his way on his first loss against Bentley and put in Grogan. Grogan faced 50+ shots against QU last year.

Excellent win last night. Now let's hope it gives them momentum heading down the stretch! Six games coming up against the lower half of of the league. And whatever little funk Grogan had been in the last couple of weeks seems to be over...
