I’m not at the point of guaranteed wins. My current feeling is this team needs 100% against almost anybody regardless of perceived strength.
The problem is we didn’t get enough first downs and didn’t get enough snaps. We need to run the ball more than 26 times a game to win.According to ESPN the spread is now down to three.
Btw, those who picked a 50-60% passing attack against NCST won bragging rights for last week. 26 rushing attempts, 27 passing attempts. No fumbles, 1 int.

Why? Because the play clock does not start until the ball is placed?Great point. So when a strong running team jumps out to an early lead this running clock is in their favor.

When will the depth chart be out for this week?
The running clock after first downs when the ball remains in play is reducing the number of plays in a game.
Running clock favors teams which pass more often and can get out of bounds more often.
Coaches need to evaluate how play calling and how a play ends affects game clock.
Their QB looks dangerous, but our defense is exponentially better than URIs.
That is quite something to think about. RI the 171st rated football team (including FCS and FBS, UConn is 145th per Massey) has a QB that is better than anyone at UConn. Kid threw for over 400 yards and RI had 520 yards of offense. There is something to this "highly rated out of high school" and subsequent potential upside, even if it takes a few years. In fairness major D1s lose to fcs teams all the time so the fact that Gstate almost lost to one should shock no one. Also, I’m in the process of writing up a preview of Gstate and URIs QB is legit, went to MD and he was tabbed as the the guy there till he blew out his ACL to start the season 2 years in a row. He transferred to URI and in 2 years he possess or will posses every major passing record at the school. He’s no slouch and after watching that game I am very confident in saying he’s better than JF.
Once again extra pressure is placed on D because our OC can’t figure out how to use one of the better OLs around and a great stable of backs. This is the type of game that UConn needs to win if they want to get back to respectability. GA State can't simply out athlete The Huskies and win on individual big plays. If UConn can lean heavy on their solid run game and stop the run when on defense, they'll have a good shot to win.
Athletic also came out with a ranking today:
10 Tenesse
13 Duke

Is Duke really a top 15 team? That was a super flukey game last night against Clemson...
