Here is list of The Top 25 players from ESPNW Class of 2026 rankings. Depending on what happens after graduation and possible end of season movement we may have more than two openings available. Right now we have two. For most of us have Olivia Vukosa is our main priority for this recruiting class. Kate Harpring is also a definite need. This class is loaded with guards or wings. Anyone one of them would be another great addition to this class for UConn.

My top 3 gets for UConn, #1 big O Vukosa, #2 Kate Harpring, #3 McKenna Woliczko, that's all we need to continue Husky tradition.

There is no interest between Woliczko and UConn either way.

GA approach to NIL does not include guarantee, direct payments but rather providing lots of opportunities to earn nil money
there are numerous schools committing to guarantee payment
South Carolina currently commits to $25,000 per player
Fair to say that there are numerous schools offering direct payments in their recruiting of players
How much is influences the recruiting of the very top players remains to be seen but safe to say
It’s a real factor
I call Bull.

UConn does have direct payments to players. Remember the law suits? Schools MUST pay students for money made on their name, image and likeness. UConn has an NIL collective. The money it collects must be distributed to the players. It can’t be used for other purposes.

We just don’t know how much UConn distributes each year or how it is distributed. Equal shares or based on playing time or based on a production formula?

SCar, whom you mentioned, paid equal 25 k per player a few years ago. I hear that’s about doubled now because collective donations have increased. Remember, what is collected less overhead must go to the players. Equal distribution of all collective money is intended to maintain team spirit from the time you are a freshman in the bench. The starters at money through personal sponsors as their names become more well known.

some schools like U$C have not been able to raise much through NIL collectives. Instead, they focus on hooking a JuJu up with her own personal deals with sponsors. They even have a General Manager who focuses on this. Other schools are quietly turning to wbb General Managers, ( Scar also helps hookup sponsors too - but after they are on campus - not in the recruiting process)

My guess is that UConn’s model is more like SCar’s than U$C’s because Geno focuses more on team than Star - but who know’s for sure.

The point is every P-4 and the like has NIL and they must use it. Including UConn.

Interesting and logical comment from GA regarding players' decisions re the WNBA. And some news about Carol (no idea where to post it). No roster update for next year from me until aaaaaalllllll the dust settles.

Well we didn’t land Agot as she decided to head to South Carolina. Why? Maybe she was told something that we do not know. We had one opening left with Paige leaving. That is if Caroline and Azzi stay. CD has announced that she was returning. This may be one of the reasons that Agot chose SoCar.

Do you like conspiracy theories? Me personally I am not. But, I will toss one your way. Watching Senior Day after the game to me it seemed that Paige was overly excited. Maybe it was because she has been through this event once before. Or is it possible that she is undecided on whether to return to UConn for her medical year.

Geno has a rule that he wants to know what a players intentions lie by end of the conference tournament. That is what Azzi is waiting for. Imagine how many heads would turn if PB decides to stay at UConn one more year.

I'm with @MooseJaw and @oldhusky -- the priority in my mind is Vukosa and Harpring. The Big O for obvious reasons, and Kate because she shut down Kaleena Smith in one game. I may be imagining things, but I think I see a little bit of Nika in her, and we can always use a bit of that.

Based on what i have “heard” from AAU coaches Harpring will not be headed to Storrs.

It would be nice if we could snag someone from the portal.
PG is the hardest position to fill through the portal. Kaitlyn was an exceptional case from a school with a similar (not identical) style and culture. It would also appear cruel to KK and might send a bad message to possible recruits.

But even worse, I can’t think of any candidates, and I’ve been weighing possibilities. Do you have any in mind? I assume Geno, if he were open to it, would prefer a senior or grad student, and someone not from the Big East. That just leaves Hana Muhl :p:D

I said that we need a PG. it doesn’t need to be a Chen type player. We needed one a couple of years ago and Anes arrived. Fisher is not a true point and neither is Morgan. I like the idea of Hana Muhl. She is not needed to be a star or even a starter. From a post above someone said that Harpring is not interested in UConn. That’s to bad if true. She would be a Sue Bird type player. But she would be a year away. Not many point guards available in the 2026 class.

Disagree about Morgan. She is absolutely a PG. whether that’s her best role at UConn is a different question. Saying she’s not able to play PG is like saying Evina was not a PG in her two years at UConn. In Geno’s positionless offense, Evina was often effectively the PG even when Paige or Nika were on the floor. I have no idea if Geno wants to use Morgan that way. But this season is probably not a good indicator, given the depth at the guard spots. The question is next season, when at least two of those spots will turn over. If the options are KK and Kelis, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Morgan get some minutes at PG.

Not many C's near the top of the recruiting rankings either. My main worry is if you want a C or PG there is a big drop-off after the Big O and Harpring. It is hard to have a great recruiting year if you miss on both of those. Plenty of talented players, but maybe not what we need most.
