UConn Coaching Hire Incoming

He’s been in the coaching world for almost 40 years. I hope he sticks it out for a bit longer, he’s a really valuable coach to have & we know he won’t leave at this point. But I can’t blame him if he’s about ready to hang it up, he can draw on his retirement accounts at this point.
As long as he is on stand by for rebounding drills.

Job should be filled by the time the first live period opens, so that's good.

According to Hurley Tom has very little time for coaching as he is doing all the crazy financial stuff which is only going to get crazier. Call him GM or a assistant AD
But his coaching duties needed to replaced by someone.
Just for informational purposes I listed some of the greatest coaches of my era;
How many of the great coaches actually played were they became coaching legends
Rupp Kansas. - Kentucky
John Wooden Purdue - UCLA
Knight. Ohio State. USMA&Indiana
Calhoun AIC -NE/ UConn
Mike K USMA - Duke
Hurley SH. UConn
Billy D. PC - Florida
Jay Wright Bucknell - Villanova
Rick Pitino UMass - PC,UK ,UL ,SJ.
Dean Smith Kansas - UNC

Does anyone see a trend ?
I think the gospels mentioned something about not being accepted in your home town

Hurley’s quote from that article says it all. Don’t know what we will win from year to year but whatever happens the effort of the coaches and staff will not be in question.

“I’m demanding, so it’s always hard for me to find people to hire. They have to share that same kind of obsession and they can’t be looking for life balance.”
That is the standard at elite levels. Nick Saban has that and he passed it on to Kirby Smart. Kirby had a guy (Matt Luke) resign to spend time with his family (watch his son play football, I think) only to spring up at Clemson shortly after.

Danny Hurley and his coaches are not lounging around enjoying their fat paychecks. They are working their asses off.

Their dedication is likely more than is mentally healthy (hence not following the Queen's etiquette guidelines regarding interactions with people wearing stripes), but we (the casuals) get to reap the benefit of their diligence.

I feel I've got the "excellent organizational, teaching, communication and public relations skills" part covered. Hmmmm.
And you are strongly committed to the university!

I do this every time I read one of these! :D

.-.
What does he have; 5 rings?

What’s with the Boneyard AI
I wrote Pitino. SJ and it was changed automatically to Samson Johnson . Should have been St John’s obviously
My near vision is bad worse when I use a phone or am in a hurry both makes editing difficult .

Don’t forget Geno Auriemma, West Chester University - UConn

For the fans that aren’t familiar with Nardi (me) why is he regarded highly and what value does he add to the coaching staff/team? Hurley is purposeful with almost everything he does so he wouldn’t pick an assistant coach on a whim but for everyone saying it’s bolstering the coaching staff why? Genuwinly don’t know much about him so just trying to see what we should be excited about?

Nardi was me and my roommate's Public Enemy #1 while we were at UConn.

My roommate used to do this gag where he would heckle players/coaches from the first row of the visitors' bench side of the student section, but only use "clean language", which allowed him to walk the line between annoying POS vs. guy deserving to get kicked out of a game. It kept security on their toes and mostly flabbergasted.

His go-to when Nardi on the bench was: Hey Nardi, you are a weiner! Only one time, probably his senior season, which lined up with my junior season, Nardi made eye contact with my roommate and low-key flipped him off.

Anyways, should Nardi join UConn's bench, my hopes is that he receives my penance, representing both myself and my college roommate.
Text from said roommate from earlier this morning.

The chain starts with me texting him a photo of Gerry McNamara during an Iona/Siena game. Next, the Nardi news.
