if those are our only choices, give me Rutgers, please. If there are more choices, I would like a B12 team for UConn to play against.

IDK. An east coast bowl game against a regional rival school on a decent date is hard to beat.
Second choice would be the Texas Tech game.
USF in Orlando would be third.
Mobile, Alabama game would be fourth.

Whatever bowl game we make won’t make our butts look fat.

It’s so stupid to complain about which bowl game we might get. Once we left the AAC we had no control over that.

Nobody cares if we beat La Tech in a bowl versus Illinois.

USF throttled Syracuse last season in a bowl last year and people everywhere just can’t stop talking about it!

Actually nobody talks about it and nobody cares. Nobody.

We're G5/6 unless by some miracle we become P3/4. Until that time, playing other G5s in a bowl, even if they are former conference brethren, may not be overly enticing, but the chance to win any bowl would be a great thing for the program given what we've gone through.

Yeah they did. it was the worst bowl loss in ACC history and first time Syracuse was shut out in a bowl. Babers got fired. There was a 5 page thread on it. Any guesses who contributed to it?

... and we now know that all this led to UConn getting our starting center from the transfer portal due to this series of events (Wes Hoeh). Life is crazy sometimes...

He was fired well before that dude. Like well before that. With one or two games left in the regular season. And SU started a Tight End at QB.

Again. Nobody cares.

Sort of. Actually no.

His timeline isn’t remotely right. SU had tons of guys in the portal before the bowl.

If we want to snowball momentum into next season and prove that UConn is back, losing in a Bowl game isn't the way to do it. We need a similar strength G4
Or a similar strength P4 team. Not all the teams in the P4 are great, but if some are barely good enough to make a bowl game, that would be ideal for UConn, especially a B12 that has those characteristics. If UConn defeats a B12 in a bowl game it will help in keeping the decision makers from dismissing UConn Football so easily and quikcly. Will they say "oh, they beat one of our Big 12 teams, let's invite them now"? No, there are other factors, but defeating a B12 team would certainly help.

if we lose to a B12 team (or really any P4) it will hurt our case. If we beat any team in a Bowl and finish 9-4 or maybe even 10-3 it will help our case.

Nobody will remember who we beat but they will remember who we lose to. No need to take risks on a stronger opponent

You seem to know a lot.

Interesting that we would be matched up against South Alabama (#83 in Massey's composite at 5-5 with us currently at #78). A lot could happen over the next 2 weeks, but I wonder if selected for that bowl, would the team reuse the lids they wore for the Military Appreciation game.

UConn vs Nittany Lions!
lol UConn vs. "wish.com" nittany lions

that is the disney channel high school mascot u see in the basketball gym.
sure hope we don't get matched up with the south alabama disneys.
or any directional school, for that matter.

Well, that potential matchup would be perhaps not optimum. Lower down the P4 rankings would be better. Not sure this is serious though.
There is no way UConn would beat Nittany Lions. Maybe Cal if they win six games in regular season or similar team if they qualify for bowl game.

Exactly my point. Wouldn't be competitive to say nothing about actually winning.

The logo is South Alabama. The joke was Nitany Lions.
So I even checked the logo before I posted to make sure. Hahaha. My bad. Not the first time I failed to get the joke. ;)

Boca vs Rutgers would be best possible outcome. Vs Texas Tech in Dallas would be awesome too.

I want to see us play a winnable P5 game or vs a strong G5 brand (JMU, Liberty, etc.).

I appreciate folks that want a winnable game to carry momentum, but I want a challenge and a good win to end the season - ideally in a good location.
