UConn Baseball Recruiting and Commitment Thread

Hope somebody lets Edsall know ;)

One to keep an eye on:

Mike Yarin – QB / S – St. John’s Prep – Yarin stands 6’1″ and 180 pounds and has already committed to U Conn to play baseball. Another terrific all around athlete he played on both offense and defense last season and was utilized all over the field. Despite his commitment to U Conn, Yarin has indicated that he is open to being recruited for football and with his play this season he will likely attract interest from schools. Yarin displays great charisma and leadership from the quarterback position and this bodes well for SJP next season. Football highlights

Not a total surprise, as indicated by the above posting from back in February. Yes, a disappointment, but I'm guessing this news made room for the recent commitment from Kevin Ferrer.

UCONN RECRUITING CLASS OF 2018 RANKED #44 Per Perfect Game

44 is pretty damn solid, but I suspect it might be underselling this class significantly. There are a lot of very good players coming in.

UCONN RECRUITING CLASS OF 2018 RANKED #44 Per Perfect Game

Of course, there is always a chance that Pat Winkel and Michael Burrows will get drafted and go pro.

Pretty sure all the kids on the list value education. I think it's part of the character check before being asked to play UCONN Baseball. Nobody knows for sure, but my guess is we keep all of them and the schools ranked above lose quite a few........thinning the heard.....and leaving us that much stronger.

My apologies.. did not mean to offend. Just saying with top ranked pitchers and catchers especially it goes without saying these days.........

"Insert player name"
will be a "insert college name" unless he’s given a significant signing bonus.

So.........Huskies @ #44 will be in a good place after the draft. Vanderbilt (the #1)has 10 of the top 50 players committed. I KNOW they won't be keeping all of there players. "That"......was my point. Did not mean to Passover your point in the process. My bad.

Add in the JUCO's and this class is stacked

From what I have observed over the last few years, December through April is usually a very slow time for announcing baseball recruiting commitments. As such, it would seem to be a good time to post a summary of future UConn baseball recruiting commitments that have been mentioned in this thread:

Kyler Fedko - SS
Adam Schwartz - OF
Kevin Ferrer - OF
