Trevor Holmes starting is a logical choice, we'll just see how he does. I don't think he has pitched in this tournament so far, so he has a fresh arm. A senior/graduate student, while he has never spent much time at the top of the bullpen, but he has seen time in pressure situations, and he has had a few successes. If he is on, he can certainly give UConn 2 or 3 innings. If he isn't on, it will be on to the next pitcher quickly.
Coach Penders might throw a freshmen pitcher such as Dunlop into a start while they are still in the winners bracket, but for the championship game, he goes with an experienced senior.
