UConn and 2017 AAC Baseball Tournament (Schedule Change)

6th inning, 2 runners on for Memphis, throwing error by Prato scores a run by the Tigers to make it 4-2.

We are a fly ball happy offense and that is not a recipe for success.

Anytime this team has played for something they choke badly. They get ranked 25 immediately lose a midweek and get swept by Tulane. They have a chance to win the conference playing ECU and get 2 hits on the last game of the year. Now they have a shot to lock up a NCAA at-large bid and they have 3 hits against a kid with a 5.47 ERA. I hope they turn it around but I don't expect to see anything from them. They seem to fold anytime there's pressure on them. If they end up losing they'll be on the outside looking in for any NCAA bid

7th inning, a surprising bit of offense from the anemic bottom of the UConn order with walks to Winkel and Hill, and an RBI single from Krueger to make it 5-3. One out, with Memphis changing pitchers.

Toppa is a well built kid. I know there is a homer in there waiting to come out.

A wild pitch, then a sac fly from Toppa makes it 5-4 with Prato at bat with 2 out.

.-.
1-2-3 7th inning for Russell, who now has 3 strikeouts in 1.1 innings.

8th inning, Feldstein single, LeFevre sac bunt. One out, now UConn needs the bottom of the order to produce again. A tall order perhaps, but it is needed.

.-.
Aaron Hill 3rd walk of the game, runners on 1st and 3rd. It really helps when the bottom of the order gets on base and gets a few hits to boot.

.-.
UConn tries the dead duck play, and the Memphis pitcher bungles it. 7-5 UConn and still at bat.

Well, at least the top of the order will be coming up for UConn in the 9th. Now Russell needs to get through his longest stint of the year, 3.1 innings, to get the win.
