Last ten seasons...Rutgers has has lost two thirds of their games with Louisville.

Louisville has won two BCS Bowl Games recently....and seems to be on the rise.

I don't really care about comparisons of Rutgers and Louisville...either is better then the dumpster fire of Maryland.

Rutgers and New Jersey just don't seem a good fit with FSU, Clemson, Wake, NC State, etc.....much like Syracuse and BC make for a horrible fit in the division. We did not need another NE program.
So you're just here to promote your "southern agenda"?

So you're just here to promote your "southern agenda"?

Nicky.....I am not "promoting" my southern agenda...I am representing a viewpoint of fan from another section of the country.

You tend to get ugly and personal....I guess that I am "southern" (although I spent years on my grandfathers and then father's Wisconsin farm...but my southern mom ingrained it in me to show other's respect, not as a reflection of their character, but of yours.

Louisville, over the past ten seasons, has been a better football program then Rutgers (Rutgers had a .337 record against them)...and football folks down here were very happy to have Louisville.

There is a lot of grousing from some northeastern folks about Louisville's addition, but the truth is that there was a lot of support for Louisville, especially from the southernmost ACC schools. And not recognizing that CR can be impacted by regional culture is foolish.

Maryland went freekin' 2-22 against the Noles in the ACC...got splattered 63-0 in their last match. A horrible football opponent. A snoozer of an annual game. FSU won their games by an average score of 27 points...

Maryland, over the last 14 years, has lost more ACC games then they have won...have had nine season with fewer then five total wins...

Maryland football had become a dumpster fire.

Like most FSU fans, I am thrilled that this lackluster team is off of the schedule....

Wow! Maryland actually beat FSU twice? I get that Maryland wasn't the cream of ACC football, but even when they were pretty good they always underperformed against FSU. Now if you can get five or six more "dumpster fires" out of the ACC, you and the rest of the football only FSU fans will be happy. or, better yet, FSU can simply leave the ACC.

At least you didn't lace your bitter hatred of Maryland with "clever" and dishonest smug.

Pat...I agree....some of us are disgusted by the football competition in the ACC...GT. Duke, UNC abd Virginia don't have a better record against FSU then does Maryland...Maryland was just the one to get off the schedule.

There has been an interest from the "football schools" in upgrading ACC football. There has been a lot of skepticism at FSU about the willingness of some schools to invest (or be able to invest) enough in football. UNC is still thought of as a basketball first school, as is Duke,

Wake and GT will always be decent seven win schools that have a good year now and again. Virginia has fallen into the abyss....and Miami needs to climb out. It has been 11 years since the Canes have had a double digit win season.

The wish to provide better football match ups trumped the basketball interests this last time around.

Crap Nicky...Rutgers is crowing about playing in a Regional?

Holy smokes....

Oh good another Big 10/ACC p!ssing match.

Why would anyone from any school in the P5 care about CR at this point in time. Nothing is going on and you all have your immunity from financial ruin.

Seriously so insecure about teams that you don't play for or represent in any fashion that you have to battle other insecure posters on a message board that isn't about any of your schools?

But...importantly...Maryland football has not been good of late.

Maryland has had good women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey and men's Soccer of late...., I don't watch much Field Hockey or Lacrosse so I had no idea that was Maryland's power programs.

CR will always be interesting because of its drama...winners, losers, angst. It is As the World Turns for the sports junkie.

And, many think that the tectonic plates of CR are still slowly grinding. With the subduction of conferences, hot spots appearing, occasional tremors..and the possibility of a Mt. St. Helens, CR is the hot topic of off seasons.

Everyone is a winner except UConn and Cincinnati. There is no angst for anyone else who isn't out of their minds.

You are a fan of the defending national champion and you have nothing better to worry about than Maryland. Like I said bizarre.

Yup. We are a defending national champion in the other revenue sport but for some absurd reason, we are stuck in the American resorting to shaking a cup of change on street corners for any kind of money we can get. Again, absurd. Off of the very top of my head, if I was a fan of Wake, BC, Cuse, Pitt, NC State, Duke, Maryland, UNC (can now add them to this list given their academic fraud scandals), UVA, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Iowa, Iowa State, Colorado, Utah, TCU, Oklahoma State, Rutgers, Louisville, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Cal, or Oregon State, I would just be happy to be grandfathered or accepted into a P5 conference.

I mean no disrespect to any visiting fans of any of those schools. All I'm saying is that UCONN fans could give a very compelling side-by-side comparison with most/all of them if there was ever a "P5 Draft" conducted from scratch. Be thankful that your Presidents and ADs past and present were able to position your school inside the P5. Trust us, from the outside looking in, it ' sucks to see some of these schools in a p5 conference when we know full well that UCONN can compete and make money on par with all of them if all things were level. Forgive UCONN fans for not wanting to read about B1G or ACC championships from the 50s and 60s as a determining factor for what conference is the superior. All UCONN fans want to read about is the how/where/why/what/WHEN we are going to a P5 conference like the schools that I listed above enjoy.

If you're going back in history like that, take a look at Louisville the last decade. You're actually impressed?

Louisville- All Time 469-440-17(.516)/Bowl 9-8-1(.528)

Rutgers- All Time 626-606-42 (.508)/Bowl 5-4(.556)

Rutgers v. Louisville All Time Head to Head- RU 7-6

Clearly Louisville is the superior football program. Their dominance over Rutgers can not be questioned.

The Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl rings in the past decade impress me the most. All time head to head looks about the same.

What do you think of the Florida team they played?

People seem to forget that UConn has actually played this team that people like Billybud are slobbering about. The year Louisville beat Florida was also the year that Louisville lost to one of the worst UConn teams in a decade--with Paul Pasqualoni as the coach.

UMCP has done quite well in m basketball, football, m soccer, m lax since 1975... winning quite a few ACC championships. I'm not pro or anti-UMCP, but they were a solid addition for the B1G in everything except football. I think many of us look at this generically and assume UMCP is a poor choice because of their football program. But their football team kicked my football team's butt last year on senior day (humiliating). But everyone is kicking our butts these days.

UL is a good athletic choice for the ACC, but not in UMCP's league yet. I expect UL to make some noise in the ACC in short order. I still wish the ACC added UConn instead of UL.

Eh. UVA is 16-8 vs Maryland since 1990 in football. We've sucked since 2007, and three of the Maryland wins are since 2007. We finally lost in overtime in men's basketball this year after winning 6 in a row. If you want to be impressed by the men's lacrosse team, go ahead. Men's soccer is good of late at Maryland. How Maryland's football team won in Blacksburg is a real mystery on the level of Duke beating everyone in the Coastal including Miami.

I would like to see the ACC add UConn as well.

That Florida team rolled most of the SEC that year, but looked like crap in the Sugar Bowl. Georgia was a better team almost beating Alabama in the SEC title. Pasqualoni did get a nice win over Louisville that season.

More Maryland bashing from the Virginia fan who claims to not give a damn about Maryland, I see.

Florida was on a downward plunge that they've yet to claw out of. And really, outside the top teams of the SEC, they are just like any other conference. Including the old BE. Any time UConn has played an SEC team, there is no discernible difference between them and any other team in any other league.

LSU, Alabama, Florida, Auburn. That's where things get cooking. Outside of that, what is so impressive about beating an SEC team? They diodn't even play Alabama and Auburn that year. The next year, practically the same team lost to Georgia Southern for heaven's sake.

You guys severely overrate Louisville.

I don't think it is bashing. He was saying how good Maryland is in football, basketball, lacrosse, and socccer. I just laid out the truth. To me that's not bashing.

Nicky there are at least two other threads on this board discussing the B1G decision to take Rutgers over UConn and why there is a lot of head scratching. It's mostly UConn fans discussing it, and not ACC fans. Watch this video if you can. It epitomized what everyone knows the B1G is getting with Rutgers. But enjoy the extra TV money.

You know what Stimp...you sound like a very sick deluded man...I'm just gonna put you on ignore...samo samo with you...pure ACC apologist! Werent you recently banned? Now I'm banning you from my eyes.

You know btstimpycuse your superior attitude is a reflection of the ACC and why your so unpopular here even though you use the old " though I would like to see UConn in the ACC even KNOWING its not their preference" to sugarcoat the cringing fanbase. I hope when or IF you have a real life you don't behave in this superior, arrogant manner? Do you ever deviate from the all ACC "message"? Are you even human? You show no real personality or humor...ever!! I know stimp.. "you're all about the directors cup"!!

I agree that UMCP isn't the greatest in football, but they have had some good seasons during the Friedgen era and seem to be doing better these days (but nothing spectacular). I was really talking more about their Olympic sports and basketball programs.

Regional? 1950? I think RU and either Texas or Wisconsin played for it all(though I was born in "51"...and crowing about "a" regional? I believe we averaged 38-17 records with 40+ records a couple yrs between "98" and "02" and played pretty competitive BB until Fred "Moose" Hill retired a few yrs ago though it not popular anymore here in the NE due to the seasonal nature of the game I guess?
