Hello? The B1G just added Rutgers. I'd much rather have Cincinnati in my athletic conference than Rutgers.
Why? Jealous? ACC fan who knows RU never wanted them!! LOL...I can understand this ACC hate! Mystery solved....I never saw so much RU talk by ACC fans visiting a UConn board!?!

I'd feel the same way about Louisville, dolt.

I'd also much rather have MD or Rutgers over UoLCC.

I don't want to see my beloved B1G lower our standards and allow clown colleges admittance.
Academic integrity WAS the last "integrity" the ACC had going for it...GONE.

I'm glad you're happy. The Louisville athletics department has better on field/on court performance the past decade than either of the B1G additions, better facilities than both, better fiances than both, and more fan support than both. From every corner of the ACC, the fans do believe that the ACC just experienced an upgrade.

As for academics, the ACC remains the only Power 5 conference with 5 members in the top 30 in the nation and 8 in the top 50. Louisville does need some work in this area. There are plans to improve. The new B1G additions need a lot more work on the courts and fields. You will see it soon enough.

Now I understand why they got the invite!

And I'm sure B1G schools will be happy making double the paycheck that ACC schools will receive.

The major B1G schools like Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State have made bigger paychecks than ACC schools for the past 100 years. Yet still only 1 basketball championship in the past 25 years and 2 football since 1970, one of which was enabled by horrific officiating. Big paychecks certainly don't produce the wins do they? The schools are larger and make more money. They always have.

How you guys do against Vandy in baseball yesterday? Large old prestigious school like Jefferson's UVa Cav's must have smoked em? Nice opportunity to show the SEC whose boss down there?
I hope you enjoyed the holiday weekend too!! lol..

LOL...only a smacking fan of a team that has never done anything would rag on a team for losing in the final of the College World Series to the #1 team.

Wake me when Rutgers ever gets to the CWS...or the football playoffs.

Nicky there are at least two other threads on this board discussing the B1G decision to take Rutgers over UConn and why there is a lot of head scratching. It's mostly UConn fans discussing it, and not ACC fans. Watch this video if you can. It epitomized what everyone knows the B1G is getting with Rutgers. But enjoy the extra TV money.

Maryland is in second place in all sports ACC championships and it's not even close. It will be many years before any ACC team passes Maryland in the all sport championship standings. Yet, ACC people claim Louisville is a better addition than UMD. Yeah right.

Maryland went freekin' 2-22 against the Noles in the ACC...got splattered 63-0 in their last match. A horrible football opponent. A snoozer of an annual game. FSU won their games by an average score of 27 points...

Maryland, over the last 14 years, has lost more ACC games then they have won...have had nine season with fewer then five total wins...

Maryland football had become a dumpster fire.

Like most FSU fans, I am thrilled that this lackluster team is off of the schedule....

Frequently coming in second or third isn't exactly like frequently losing a war (except by your measure I guess).

Please do the math on Rutgers football compared with Louisville's record over the last 10 years (I'm too tired). It's not what you think.

I did the math once and there was a 6 year span where Rutgers had the better record.

The B1G has great basketball....mediocre to bad baseball, and decent football.

Last ten seasons...Rutgers has has lost two thirds of their games with Louisville.

Louisville has won two BCS Bowl Games recently....and seems to be on the rise.

I don't really care about comparisons of Rutgers and Louisville...either is better then the dumpster fire of Maryland.

Rutgers and New Jersey just don't seem a good fit with FSU, Clemson, Wake, NC State, etc.....much like Syracuse and BC make for a horrible fit in the division. We did not need another NE program.

Did UConn just win dual basketball championships on the court or at the revenue table?

Yes with the vast majority of men's before 1975. Only one (1) since. Maryland dominates women's lacrosse. That's what you added. This is NCAA championships. You said ACC. I'll have to go research that later.

If forced, I'd say Jim Delany's current top picks for next round expansion schools probably looks something like this;

#1. UVA & UNC
#2. Nobody

I think UVa and UNC are Delany's #1 and #2 also. But I think there is a #3, #4 and maybe a #5 in Texas, Kansas and non-AAU member Oklahoma (to keep the B1G footprint contiguous). But we'll all have to wait a while to see if these schools ever jump.

We don't have to have B1G money to compete. That's already been proven this last season. We may not win all the time but it's enjoyable to watch many teams do well in many sports.

UMCP has done quite well in m basketball, football, m soccer, m lax since 1975... winning quite a few ACC championships. I'm not pro or anti-UMCP, but they were a solid addition for the B1G in everything except football. I think many of us look at this generically and assume UMCP is a poor choice because of their football program. But their football team kicked my football team's butt last year on senior day (humiliating). But everyone is kicking our butts these days.

UL is a good athletic choice for the ACC, but not in UMCP's league yet. I expect UL to make some noise in the ACC in short order. I still wish the ACC added UConn instead of UL.

Louisville- All Time 469-440-17(.516)/Bowl 9-8-1(.528)

Rutgers- All Time 626-606-42 (.508)/Bowl 5-4(.556)

Rutgers v. Louisville All Time Head to Head- RU 7-6

Clearly Louisville is the superior football program. Their dominance over Rutgers can not be questioned.

I'm not a fan of Maryland, but what you say is totally misleading. Since 1980, Maryland has won 23 National Championships in 5 sports, which is second only to North Carolina among schools in the ACC. UNC was helped dramatically by their dominance in womens soccer.

Your heading where the mods sent stimp...keep up the BS!
