UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

With the backgrounds and recruiting reputations of the new coaches, and the offers out there it really feels like we’re about to level up our talent across the board. Watching the CFP shows how far we still have to go to reach that tier, this is a good first step.

Wow, is there anyone that will actually see the field left from last year's team?
Just this guy

This is a scenario where Mora a) doing a good enough job to still be an active head coach and b) not actually upgrading to a higher-level program is going to be tough for UConn. The players can go to a coach they know and trust and the level of the team he's at is similar so he has a good idea that all of "his" guys can be competitive at that level. (I.E. he doesn't have to recruit higher level talent than what he could get from importing his old team)

Rhode Island is a great school. There's a rumor that they might join the FBS soon. Heard it on a YouTube channel about FCS moving to FBS. The person said that RI to the MAC.
They started renovating Meade Stadium at 42MM cost. seating 5k on the side opposite of The Ryan Center. Possibly playing at the RIFC stadium this year. Some seating capacity upgrades but nowhere near what they had while in the old Yankee Conference. Should be nice though.

We have 27 scholarship players left on the squad. This does not include any of the players in the portal. We have 13 commitments from high school players so a total of 40 players for next year at this point. Need 45 players to get to the 85 scholarship limit.

There are 20 non scholarship players still showing on the roster.

In the past, when new coaches were hired, they always said you had to give them a chance until they get their own players on the field. Well…I guess that will be year one for Candle.

-> McDonald, who has three years of eligibility remaining, has a couple of visits set up and plans to make several more. There is also the chance he could return to UConn.

“I’m not necessarily leaving,” McDonald said. “I’m seeing what’s out there, what’s in the water. I’ve been in contact with a couple of schools, so I’m excited.” <-
