I'm happy for him for those P4 visits. Sucks being a school that improves players for P4 schools but it is better than being UMass.

Umm, what? If Coach Candle was recruiting guys that enabled his team to never have a losing season during his time as coach, then what is the problem? Our ex-coach didn't recruit as well as RE1, but he deftly navigated the portal to fill the gaps. If HCJC2 can recruit and build through the portal, then who cares if it looks like we're Toledo East, as you put it. He got his team to 11 wins in 2023! Can you imagine how freaking crazy this fanbase would be to reach 11 wins?

Never said it was a problem, just caging my expectations on who we would be getting in the TP. I love it that he got to 11 wins in 2023, and 2017. My thought was that we were trying to get a P4 invite, not mirror a MAC team that went 16-10 the last two years. But as I said, just trying to cage my expectations on transfer portal gets.

Interesting that he's looking at a couple Oklahoma teams. Wonder if he has family there or something, I know he's from Georgia.

Would kind of suck to lose him to Tulsa, but I think he would be a really good fit at Oklahoma State as that smaller "change of pace" back. He's got P4 level speed and would likely make some plays for them IMO

Not a SEC fan. As participant in the fan portal my visit will be with Miami and Indiana.

Be fair please -- what you're saying he said is NOT what he said. He didn't say he was promised playing time. He is saying he signed up for UConn, and paid tuition, because he was promised a slot on the roster and then it was pulled too late for him to enroll anywhere else.

What he said may simply be false, or may be the product of a miscommunication between him and the staff as to what the staff was committing to. But if he's right it does not speak well of the prior staff.

I wonder how many of these CSU visits are legit interest or out of love for Mora. Seeing many at the end could also show that if they don’t get what they want from their other visits and Mora has told them he wants them, then they’ll settle for CSU.

Would love to see how many he takes with him when the portal closes.

What does concern me is that many of these guys seem like there is no chance they are staying

I'm guessing they are safety nets. Mora told them "if you don't get an offer from a school you're visiting, I'll give you a scholarship here".

I know we changed coaches but this seems a little crazy. It seems like every starter is in the portal. Maybe I’m wrong?
