I think Rosa's talent is the ability to avoid tackles in space. He needed to get screens so he was one on one with defenders as he was second on the team in yards after catch. Unfortunately, there were too many offensive weapons and he got buried on the depth chart.

Rosa just needs more focus and mental discipline. The only reason he drops passes is that he is thinking where he’s headed once he has the ball. He’s also careless with his carries and getting penalties.

He’s a great athlete with tons of talent. I’d like to see a hard ass coach whip him into shape and make him the player he should be. I wholeheartedly disagree that no one would care if he looked different and was from OH. He’s got a lot of potential. Losing a talent like that to the portal is a shame. We need all the talent we can get.

I can see us getting close to 35+ portal entries. I envision that if a player has not run out of eligibility and was on the 2 deep they are likely an entry. It makes sense to check your value. I wonder how many guys will be hurt by the portal, either financially or without a place to play, <Edit> or as Exit4 states below on a bench somewhere.

So many of these OLs will find they are trading a starting role for a bench roll. A lot of positions have natural rotation such as WR, RB, and most defensive positions. One position that is more like QB in that there is almost no rotation unless its a blow out is OL.

Power programs will pay these kids a lot...and they might find out after its too late that they just swapped from a starting roll at UConn to become the 7th, 8th and 9th OL someplace else.

Be smart about this....unless your the kind of kid that would rather have no pressure and just suit up to watch from the sidelines.

This is what happened with Yakiri Walker. Left UConn for Colorado, played one game there. Has anchored the OL at Memphis this fall.

I have no problem with these players looking, and for some taking, a chance at a bigger program, and probably for more money. But, when they ride the pine instead of starting at UConn, it's eyes wide open and no feeling sorry for them.
