UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

I jest, but Rosa to FCS Portland State. Reuniting with his Bristol/UConn pal.
I'd go to a game to watch Rosa play. FWIW, PSU was horrible this year and fired their coach.

I think Rosa is a D1 back. He is explosive and can make people miss. They have had good backs behind him. I also think he'd be a decent corner or slot WR.

I dread when I open the-boneyard and see huskymedic has posted in the transfer portal thread.
I used to…and would be dreading these announcements if Mora was still here. But with a new coach and a coach known for recruiting, I am not as worried.

If guys entering the portal do not return, sure hope they end up with other FBS opportunities, some NIL, or minimally an FCS scholarship and potential for a degree. IIRC, things didn’t work out so well for all players who entered the portal last year.

So many of these OLs will find they are trading a starting role for a bench roll. A lot of positions have natural rotation such as WR, RB, and most defensive positions. One position that is more like QB in that there is almost no rotation unless its a blow out is OL.

Power programs will pay these kids a lot...and they might find out after its too late that they just swapped from a starting roll at UConn to become the 7th, 8th and 9th OL someplace else.

Be smart about this....unless your the kind of kid that would rather have no pressure and just suit up to watch from the sidelines.
Tough situation for many players. You lack real NFL potential however you can move to a better NIL deal and bank some real money. Do you take the money and run or pass on the money for playing time.

Slot receiver, imo, gives him the best chance to play on Sundays. He's got the Welker, Edelman mentality
Seriously…you think a guy who couldn’t get on the field at UConn in his Junior year has a chance to play on Sundays?

Rosa had some nice moments…but this board highly overstates his capabilities.

Respectfully, there is no way this guy plays on Sundays let alone at a p4 level. He’s an average low tier RB at best. There is a reason he doesn’t get a lot carries and Cam is one of them. I don’t mean to disrespect the kid, but he is marginal and if he wants reps he should find an FCS school so he can develop his game. Constantly bouncing outside works in high school. It doesn’t cut it in high level college football, and he needs to learn to how to read and cut. He’s a hard nosed kid and tough FB player but isn’t an elite player. I hope he finds a place that lets him get the carries he needs.

I want him to play on Sundays just once now so his haters have to eat crow.
saying a guy who has struggled to get on the field at UConn is most likely not an NFL player, does not make you a hater…it makes you a realist.

That being said…Geremy Davis played minimally until his senior year and he was drafted. So it’s not impossible…and good for him if he proves us wrong.

But let’s stop with the “hater” talk.

It makes YOU a hater. Only you. Just you.

Isn’t unlimited free agency great? It’s not even out of control or anything.
Sounds like Friday is going to a day for the books. HCJC has a lot of holes to plug, hopefully they come in as fast as they are going out.

These kids are learning lessons they might not have learned for years post UConn. Hopefully, Football aside, they will heed lessons learned and use them in the "real world". Will say there is nothing more real than making a decision that costs you $50,000 per year(have no idea pay scale for our portal guys).

It’s a simple formula right now. Everyone who hasn’t been playing regularly is in the portal to see if they can go somewhere where they can play, and everyone who has been playing regularly is in the portal to see if they can go somewhere where they will be paid, or be paid more. And some are in the portal for the old fashioned reason — they have been told their scholarship isn’t going to be renewed anyway. We are at the point and time where most players with eligibility will declare every year, and after a coaching change almost all will.

So I expect almost the entire team will declare for the portal. And then we’ll see how many want to be back if they aren’t blown away by another offer, and how many Candle wants back.
