UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

I want him to play on Sundays just once now so his haters have to eat crow.
saying a guy who has struggled to get on the field at UConn is most likely not an NFL player, does not make you a hater…it makes you a realist.

That being said…Geremy Davis played minimally until his senior year and he was drafted. So it’s not impossible…and good for him if he proves us wrong.

But let’s stop with the “hater” talk.

It makes YOU a hater. Only you. Just you.

Isn’t unlimited free agency great? It’s not even out of control or anything.
Sounds like Friday is going to a day for the books. HCJC has a lot of holes to plug, hopefully they come in as fast as they are going out.

These kids are learning lessons they might not have learned for years post UConn. Hopefully, Football aside, they will heed lessons learned and use them in the "real world". Will say there is nothing more real than making a decision that costs you $50,000 per year(have no idea pay scale for our portal guys).

It’s a simple formula right now. Everyone who hasn’t been playing regularly is in the portal to see if they can go somewhere where they can play, and everyone who has been playing regularly is in the portal to see if they can go somewhere where they will be paid, or be paid more. And some are in the portal for the old fashioned reason — they have been told their scholarship isn’t going to be renewed anyway. We are at the point and time where most players with eligibility will declare every year, and after a coaching change almost all will.

So I expect almost the entire team will declare for the portal. And then we’ll see how many want to be back if they aren’t blown away by another offer, and how many Candle wants back.

After seeing Iowa State's current list I don't feel quite so bad (knowing full well this is the new reality). Still doesn't feel good, but hope those NIL coffers are rocking.

So do we have any offensive starters coming back?? lol!! It’s seems like every starter either graduated/ran out of eligibility or is in the portal. lol!! I understand why kids are doing it and that hopefully we get some back but honestly, who is left that started for us on offense last year??

I've read (here and other places) that UConn alums and/or Connecticut businesses stepped up NIL for football when Mora made noise. Have we heard what donor feelings are with Candle? He seems quieter than Mora which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you still need to stroke some egos and sell the vision. The hiring seemed to get universal praise, but I haven't heard about booster / insider feelings.

Who do you think was pushing for Jason Candle? The Donors.

The video of him arriving in CT was him and his family arriving on a donor owned aircraft.

No idea WTF that is, but if that's the case then it's probably better off that he entered the portal.

Would you be able to give me a list of who is staying? It would be smaller than this list.

Let's see who Coach Candle can get to stay and how he does in the portal on Jan 2nd.

I'm not going to worry about the portal, because every school has people entering. Do I think the portal needs to be fixed? Hell yes, because if you can announce that you are transferring every year, it becomes a joke.

You should only announce that you are in the portal and if it a coaching change - you can play right away at your new school, if you are in the portal because you think you can start, you will have to sit out a year.

The portal is broken...it needs to be fixed.

Looking back at the players that have moved on from UCONN over the past couple of years
no one really stands out for their on field performance. Most have struggled to get playing time.
I guess the saying the grass is always greener on the other side rings true. I feel bad for these kids.
I lived through a coaching change as a player. I went home on Dec 18 and when I return to the campus
on January 5 and there were already 20 junior college transfers enrolled for classes. There was no NCAA limits on scholarships the total recruiting class was 105 players and 205 player on the first day of summer camp. There was no portal or NIL and that situation was total chaos.

The NCAA brought this situation on by not dealing with player compensation the courts opened the doors and now things are totally out of control. I have no idea how academic eligibility of these players that are on their 3 or 4th schools is even calculated. The truth is everyone has lost players in the past.
Players have privately contemplated transferring or just quitting but now with social media, the portal and NIL everything is public.

Lmao exactly…we gotta stop with the Rosa fantasies.

In the past four years I’ve seen people suggest he should play slot WR, QB and my favorite….a backup “hard nosed” PG on the basketball team.

It’s so weird
I think that all stems from where we were in 2022, that season was the first bright spot for UConn football in years and Rosa was a big part of the success that year. We want him to do well and think of him in probably higher terms because of where we were then.
