While everyone is important, my priorities would probably to try to retain:

  1. RB Cam Edwards <--heart and soul, but might be just too expensive, IDK.
  2. OL Ben Murawski / OL Brady Wayburn / OL Carsten Casady <--probably can't afford as P4 $$$ will pour in
  3. WR John Neider <--can't we make a deal here!
  4. TE Juice Vareen <--probably gets what he wants....should be looking for a right situation as he is not a conventional TE
  5. LB Oumar Diomande
  6. DB Osiris Gilbert <--touted true freshman saw the field...want to see more
  7. DB Cam Chadwick
  8. DL Vincent Carroll-Jackson
  9. RB MJ Flowers <--I liked what I saw
  10. RB Victor Rosa
  11. TE Alex Honig

Some great runs

The two long TD runs bringing us back to within striking distance in the Myrtle Beach bowl and the really long one against NC State at the Rent will be his legacy here. If he wants to move down the food chain and get a year as a starter, as he was the second half of his freshman and first half of his sophomore year, before injuries and folks just beating him out, more power to him. If he wants to come back here, would love to have him. Anyone who loses their starting spot and just keeps showing up, taking the carries the coach gives them and playing on special teams should be welcome anywhere.,

I think Vic frustrated Mora with some things he did. The flip into the endzone, some drops. I remember freshman year at home, I think it was BC or Ball State, he tried to hurdle a guy and came down awkwardly on his helmet. You could hear the cameras catch a frustrated Mora yell "what the bleep are you doing?" And he yanked him from the game.

He was a quality player. Cam's emergence and guys like Robinson and Mel Brown all contributed to his diminished role but Vic can ball for sure.

He just needed more than 2 touched per game, to get a feel. I firmly believe if say Cam went down for a couple of games and Vic got 15-18 carries, we would see close to similar production. sometimes the timing of injuries makes or breaks careers.

Rosa had a massive head start on Cam and still got passed.

I’ve also never seen Edwards make boneheaded mistakes, fumble and drop passes, like we have all seen Rosa.

If Rosa looked different and was from Ohio, none of these conversations would ever be taking place.

Good list. Fully agree with the first 3 slots. It's all about what you can spend for those positions, but all guys I'd really like to have back. Diomande is 4, then Gilbert and Chadwick. Juice is a nice piece to have but without the speed of a WR or the blocking ability of a true TE, I don't know how much money you can give him. VCJ I don't think did that much here. He's still young and may end up good, but he bailed on his teammates yesterday so not a priority for me. Mal McLean would be after Chadwick. Honig is a puzzle disguised as a riddle wrapped up in an enigma. Just has never produced results anywhere near his size and athleticism. Again, fine having him back if the price is right, but not sure I'd overspend on him even if he had played Saturday, which I'm pretty sure he didn't. As I said in another thread, would love to have Rosa finish his career here but my guess is he's going somewhere where he thinks he can start, even if it's Central.

What we don't know yet is how anxious Candle is to spend his money on returning players rather than bringing new folks in. We'll have to see.

One thing about Juice, he's a guy with good hands that appears to be a good route runner or - at least - someone a QB can find and throw to with confidence. Throw the ball his way, you felt like he could make a play for it....not a stone out there, nimble!

I'm just so worried about finding quality DL that I would consider taking VCJ back if the price/conversations/attitude is good.

Rosa is a CT guy and has a special place here. If he looks around and decides he wants to come back, then great. However, I fully understand it if he decides to drop a notch to ensure he gets the starting job or opts for the bench role on a P4 program. Whatever you want young man, its been a tough four years. Like most fans, I am baffled by the program's inconsistent use of his potential. When healthy, Rosa should get 6 to 12 touches per game, not 1-4.

that or just the uncertainty of a new coach. Better to enter the portal early and find out later you've still got your role on the team and then recommit vs. not entering the portal and find out the new coach is "bringin his own luggage and it's Louis" and now you've no other options because it's too late to enter the portal.
Good points, but I'm waiting for someone to be honest and just say,
"I love my coaches and teammates, as they all helped me develop as a person and player, but who knows if there's a place for me with the coaching change so I'm entering the portal to keep my options open and see what kind of offers I'll get."
"And I want all the fans to know if the team is competitive (not even necessarily the highest) than I'd love to stay with my brothers and get us ten or more wins next year "

Does anyone know how much money we have to buy a team? It was reported Candle was promised more, but it would be interesting to know the total and how we compare to the ACC and G5.
