Yates is going to get legit P4 offers if I had to guess. Honestly one of the more saddening portal entries I can remember considering he was a high school recruit and spent 4 years with the program, a couple with high impact. Will be a telling recruitment, if the staff can keep him hats off to both them and Pryce, if not best of luck to him.

That would be an unfortunate loss if he goes. Coming off missing half a year from concussions, I don’t know that he’s going to attract a better spot than we could provide.
At which point you would think he comes back? Market will flesh itself out I'd presume

Mora has said that players aren't discouraged from testing the waters and he's not throwing them out because they do so. Robinson, yeah, I could see him getting substantial money from a power school. Yates, with the concussion history, I dont' see the same way.

What's the percentage of scholarship players to portal entries? It seems like a lot of guys. Is this average compared to other schools? HIgher? Lower. Sucks that money rules college football. You build something and money gets in the way.

Ugh.... however, it's similar to other players looking to play their grad season somewhere. Sure, he might be looking for more money or maybe UConn doesn't have the grad program he wants. No offense to the kid, but the NFL doesn't look like his future and maybe he sees a different path forward and is looking for a grad program that he can get somewhere else?

With kids who have graduated after 4 years it's hard to know why they're entering the portal.

Can we just move the freaking portal dates to after bowls and playoffs? What an absolutely unnecessary distraction for all involved.
That would solve one problem, but it would make it too late for many players to find their new home by the start of the semester and be able to participate in spring practice with their new team.

So what. It’s crazy disruptive.

The pros have a fiscal year with thoughtful calendar dates for the free agency window

If they want to transfer, open the portal in April . They can go to their new schools for summer session.

Back in the day, kids went on official and unofficial visits to new, exciting and maybe exotic schools. Now they go play for a year in those places. With the No Sundays group, who knows, it may open doors to a future that would not have been there had they stayed for 5 years at the same school. Heck, some kids are seeing 3 and even 4 schools, and parts of the country(Nick Evers, 3rd port of call)

At this point do they really need to enroll for classes?
