Random wardrobe note: it looks like UCLA has made actual short shorts available to those players who want them. As opposed to ordinary length shorts that are turned into diapers in an attempt to make them shorter.

Under Armour specially made those shorts. South Carolina has a couple player who had some made as well. Most notably Wilson.

Remember when they said Stanford was bad for Women’s PAC12 Basketball and it was called PAC1+9 ? But yet now there are 4 really good teams and ASU will be better next year after a nice showing this year.
D#$n right. All year long, in fact for the past 3 years the Pac 12 is the only conference I watch consistently.

Some really bad shot selection in both this game and the Baylor loss I saw earlier. As in, “that shot gets you benched if you were playing for Geno.” When did it become fashionable to shoot the 3-rock before even squaring up? Just amazing.

If you have a SAT score of 1400 (or thereabouts), those shots are allowed.

Joyner Holmes is a bundle of potential. She's got a combination of size and speed one doesn't often see on the women's side. Almost Lebron-like in that way. She is not yet Lebron-like in her skillset, though. And she probably has room to get in better shape (and imagine how athletic she'd be, then - sheesh).

UCLA has been hilariously brainless these last few minutes, but Texas has been little better. Let's just say, though, that if you're facing UCLA it's better to put them away early. Don't want to be in a tight game with this team of potential circus shotmakers.

Game over, UCLA is up by 10 with 26 seconds to go, I picked UCLA to beat Texas.

Canada and Billings have been very consistent leaders for UCLA. What won this game for them was their X factor Kennedy Burke (15 points) and their Y factor (20 points from the bench).

Pac 12 2 - Big 12 0
Not only that. It was the 3rd and 4th Pac-12 teams that took out the big 2 from the Big 12.

UCLA really impressed me. They look like a track team today. Watch out!

Hope C. Collier didn’t buy tix for the FF, chances she won’t see it for the next 4 years, but she had her chance.

I know Canada’s great, but I only got to see the last 7 minutes and she got away, as did the team, with the worst 2 minute left clock management. She attacked 3 times with a load of time on the clock, missed one and made a circus shot on the next that the announcers said was Sports Center worthy except they never mentioned what a bad basketball play it was. Did her coach ever think of suggesting they play smart. All’s well that ends well.

LOL, there was one fast break situation in the last few minutes where she had a choice between 1. turning back around and choosing to slow the game down, 2. Making an easy pass to a massively wide open player on the 3 point sideline, or 3. Attempting a defended circus shot. She chose option 3, of course, and missed. Then Texas made a 3 at the other end on the next possession.

Texas wasn't quite good enough today to really make UCLA pay for those kinds of mistakes.

I know a team who can...

Now I hope that UCLA and Oregon State can both win their next game.

This is a really big win for UCLA as a program, getting over the Sweet 16 hump. Two years ago they lost a nailbiter in this round to Texas, and last year they put in a respectable but losing showing against UConn.

Mississippi State will be a big ask for them, though. A lot of things will have to go UCLA's way for them to even have a chance in that game.
