They didnt need to be fired up. The effort was fine. They needed points and stops.Do you not remember Calhoun purposely getting T’s to fire up his team? Your coach having your back like that goes a lot further than giving up those two points.
It’s like people forget what they complain about is what they used to love…
StopYou could make the argument that Jackson doesn't end up with a technical if Hurley doesn't get one first. Players will model their coaches. Hurley set the stage for aggravation and Jackson followed suit. As a coach, you've got to be more mature than your players and show them how to respond to adversity.
We get the turnover, Martin had sanogo raise his arm for the lob pass and he selfishly tried to lay it up amongst two defenders , which led to a frustrated Jackson getting a tech … just make the right basketball play which this team doesn’t do wellThis was a huge play. Andre was out ahead of everyone. Would’ve cut the lead to 2 and given us all the momentum.
Stop
So are you a husky fan all the time or only on February 24thThey mentioned 6/18 on layups late in second half and I laughed out loud
Are you kidding meI do not remember JC getting a T at that point in a game. Refresh my memory.
In one of the recent postgame pressers Hurley was stressing the importance of the team staying composed in the end of ballgames. Tell you what, Coach- it starts with you.I do not remember JC getting a T at that point in a game. Refresh my memory.
Why?Stop
I guess you hated cahounWhy? Immature coaches set the stage for immature moves from players. Hurley's technical was inexcusable. Constantly stomping around and blaming the refs for everything eventually rubs off on players.
We looked prepared against Marquette. This is college basketball this year. We’re just inconsistent. It was a bad T despite knowing it was a tough call can’t happen. The bad decisions by the players hurt more than anything. RJ missed a wide open AJ for an easy deuce which would have cut it to 2 and had them reeling. Same on Martins attempt to finish which was weak.
Just a bad loss for many reasons they don’t look prepared at all when in close games.
That is the truthThey busted their a__ but missed too many shots.
Getting a technical under four minutes to go in a game you’re losing by a few points is incredibly dumb. Calhoun didn’t do that. Hurleys antics kill them late in games, the team feeds off his energy. If the head coach isn’t focused, the team follows suit. It was a tough spot for them to win the game regardless, but I’m pissed about what happened there.Do you not remember Calhoun purposely getting T’s to fire up his team? Rj has been bad passing and decision making on the break since he’s been here.On drives, Xavier is much better are drawing contact to get a foul. UConn seems to try to avoid contact.
On the steal on their inbounds, RJ had Andre for a dunk and instead made a cute pass for a turnover.
It was really over right then.
How about Whaley recovering a loose ball and turning it over trying to bring it up court, resulting in a Nunge 3? Just collect the ball and get it to a guard Whaley! We get the turnover, Martin had sanogo raise his arm for the lob pass and he selfishly tried to lay it up amongst two defenders , which led to a frustrated Jackson getting a tech … just make the right basketball play which this team doesn’t do well
Big first half helped. Should’ve never been close in that one either. It is college basketball this year but for UConn it’s been the pattern for 2-3 years in close games that’s the reality. We looked prepared against Marquette. This is college basketball this year. We’re just inconsistent.
Martin can’t defend a fourMartin should be 4 and Whaley should back up Sanogo. That way we can have another shooter out there Polley or Hawkins.
He did it with a purpose. Danny sees red and can’t control it.Do you not remember Calhoun purposely getting T’s to fire up his team? Your coach having your back like that goes a lot further than giving up those two points.

Why shouldn’t it have been close? This is the problem. You all think we’re better than we are. We shouldn’t be blowing Marquette or Xavier(on the road) out this year. We were in position to win on the road against a top 25 team with a true home court advantage. We lost. We all know at this point we aren’t a top 10 team and a final 4 lock. Why do we keep doing this to ourselves after every loss. It’s miserable. Enjoy the climb. We could be GTown, Cuse, or seton hall. Instead we’re an inconsistent team who is good way more often then they are not. We wanted to be in a top conference. We’ll this is life in a top conference. Win your home games and compete on the road. That’s where we are this year. If you would just adjust your expectations, and stop expecting us to come out and man handle top 25 teams on the road, you’d enjoy yourself more.Big first half helped. Should’ve never been close in that one either. It is college basketball this year but for UConn it’s been the pattern for 2-3 years in close games that’s the reality.
They are what they are at this point. Everyone gets too high/low with this team. They’re a 6-7 seed team whose likely outcome is winning a game in the tourney. We all wanna see more than that, but their inconsistency and style play suggest that’s about what they are.Big first half helped. Should’ve never been close in that one either. It is college basketball this year but for UConn it’s been the pattern for 2-3 years in close games that’s the reality.
I'm with you. Blaming Hurley makes very little logical sense:That's exactly how I saw it too.
