Tunes you digging right now

I was at a show Iin Boston last Saturday and was (thankfully) Shazaming the songs played before the band came out, which lead me to discover this groovy song:

I still remember years ago, we were in the car during a trip to Acadia when our teenage daughters introduced me to Shazam. Up until then, to me the name meant a Saturday morning tv super hero but that day, it was like discovering magic.

Mike McCready fell off stage during solo but didn't miss a beat, so to speak. 3:10 of video. his band mates didn't even notice

I was a Creed hater back in the day, but I am a fan of “Higher” becoming viral, mostly in humorous meme settings, and the band has seemed to embrace it. Listening to it now, it’s a pretty damn good song…I’m particularly fond of the pre-chorus.

Anywho, here’s a Mariachi band’s rendition which is pretty awesome.

Heading up to Indian Ranch in Webster, MA for our annual Mavericks show this weekend....still an amazing live band. This is their 1996 country hit cowritten by lead singer Raul Malo and Al Anderson (NRBQ)

Got the honor to see Willie Nelson on Saturday Night at Bethel Woods. I'm not super familiar with his catalog aside from a handful of tunes, but this was a song that I was unfamiliar with and was absolutely my favorite of the set. Brought tears to my eyes!

Band I came across a couple years ago. (drummer from a band I liked left to join these guys) This is song from their upcoming new release. Blues-rock stuff.

Everybody Knows - Bywater Call

We saw this tour at Bethel last summer. Willie played maybe an hour. Very stripped down set with his son and a few others. Nathaniel Rateliff and Govt Mule killed it... I guess you had robert plant/alison krauss this year too. How were they???

Plant/Krauss were amazing. Their band is so freakin’ talented too. Second time seeing them.

I decided to go for a ride on my mountain bike and came across the Tour lads. :D
Anyone know the tune?

For all the fans here.

obviously not one of the best songs ever but it is a good song and these kids are just having a blast. I believe this was filmed at Wesleyan in Middletown

Just re-discovered this song on Spotify as I'm looking for tunes to get me in the groove of writing end of semester teaching comments. Love how absurd its video is:

Those people make storm troopers look like marksmen.

Just heard this. A while ago these guys did a bluegrass/Metallica mashup. Wasn't sure if they were a real band or if it was more of a novelty, joke kind of thing. This seems legit. Never hurts getting the singer from Halestorm to join you.
