Just heard this. A while ago these guys did a bluegrass/Metallica mashup. Wasn't sure if they were a real band or if it was more of a novelty, joke kind of thing. This seems legit. Never hurts getting the singer from Halestorm to join you.

Not a metal fan. Ambivalent about bluegrass. But that really works. Has a kind of stern biblical tone to it like a lot of Slim Cessna's Auto Club (which puts on a bizarre show, but one you'll remember).

It reminds me a bit of this short lived duo. This one doesn't have the hard rock/metal element, but hard driving and intense for folk/country. And definitely has the somber spiritual overtones as well.

That was pretty cool, I really liked the instrumental part but the vocals are just a bit 'harsh' for me to really enjoy it.
If they were toned down just a tad I would probably add it to the iPod.

Any time I see Lzzy contribute with other bands I think of Dany from The Warning and what she could bring to the project.
Lzzy and Dany are good friends - the two bands have toured together a couple times and I appreciate Dany as a vocalist.

For a very long time The Warning avoided doing straight covers in order to put their original music out.
Recently they covered 'You Oughta Know' and I was impressed. When the song was first popular I didn't care for it at all.
Since watching them play their version I have grown to really like how it was done, probably because the bass line is so cool, but also because they are such talented musicians and put their own stamp on whatever they do.

Studio session from Sirius XM:

The Warning also had an appearance on a French variety/music show and the soundcheck was filmed with some comments from the band. The bass is more prominent in this recording, always a good thing (imo).

I ran across this the same night I found that Native Howl song. I also really like this cover.
