I think Hopkins sat out this season more so due to his agent/dad trying to get him to a new team for this upcoming 25-26 season; sitting out gave him a medical redshirt. I’m sure he prolly wasn’t 100%, but seems like there was some decision making from his camp to shut it down.

Yeah, don't buy it. I know ACLs aren't always the year+ they used to be, but it's still an 8-9 month thing at a bare minimum. If he's suiting up for his new team by late January that'd be a huge win.

I don't necessarily want him (because of the injury, he's a damn good player besides), but I wonder how Hurley would feel about signing a kid in the portal from bro's program lol

on the men's side its trending to be a bit longer. Sean Jones(Marquette) and Bryce Hopkins(Prov) both tore their ACLs in January 2024, Jones hasn't made it back yet and Hopkins was still experiencing issues when he came back in December before shutting it down after 3 games. English probably didn't help matters playing him 36 minutes.

Most mocks I've seen have him mid 2nd round. A big bag could probably keep him in college, but it would have to be a school where he has a shot at boosting his stock to lottery. And that sort of screams Squid to me.

Hard pass. I think Reibe will be better than him on day 1. Ivisic is a streaky and at times good shooter, but man he plays absolutely zero defense.

That's been the issue with PC. The fans seem to think that Hopkins was basically paid to rehab and perhaps could've played. But by not playing, he could portal again. It's an ugly scene with the dad/agent blasting PC and the fans going back at him.

Ross used to be a PG before his growth spurt. I’m not sure why it’s a wild thing to say because of that he has some ball handling and playmaking ability (which he has shown in spurts too).

No where near the level and confidence of DHam. But we’re talking about a role.

Ross just has to play with more confidence. It's difficult to show what you can do in a 5 or so minutes that he has been given. If any one has played the game comming off the bench is not easy and looking over your back makes it even more so. I can see Ross stepping up next season if given the minutes and if he is still with us.

"Do Not Contact" can certainly mean that he already has decided where he is going, but it could just mean he wants any suitors to only contact his agent or agency.

He’s yet to really show any offensive skill and has been at best very inconsistent defensively. If I were him, I’d be spending every waking hour of my day working on defense and putting up 3’s. Turn yourself into a 3-and-D bench contributor.

Playing well (and actually making things happen) off the bench with almost no wiggle room is one of the hardest things to do in basketball. This is why "depth" doesn't really exist. You can have 12 talented players, but most are going to feel cold and out of sync if they get into the game, knowing they have a couple of minutes to convince coach not to take them out. Depth is good for competitive practices and injury insurance.

He has the tools to be. And his developing skillset is kind of a perfect fit between Solo and Stewart if we can bring it out.

I mean I’m not on an island, NBA scouts have seen it too without needing to see him play (and I said he was an NBA player way back in his commitment thread before he was even on NBA scouts radar).

If you all want to discount the scouts as well who didn’t need to see him play to see he has the tools that your prerogative.

Well to be more accurate he’s our best perimeter defender. But yes his confidence issues on offense was something Hurley did not have patience for last year. (Not saying it’s a good or bad thing just what it is).

But it is confidence related and not skill related.
