There was an article in the Washington Post about him today. He listed his final 5 schools (Kentucky, Louisville, Duke, Arkansas, & another); unfortunately, no reference to us at all.We should get back in with him. He's a one and done talent.

It's split 11 ways and it's peanuts for the landscape. The conference gets $2 million dollars per win. Rooting against Big East teams in the tournament is rooting against UConn's financial interests.
I don't know how the conference splits credits now, but back when it was a nine school conference (most of the 1980's) the conference administration held back a small amount for their operations then split the remainder ten ways; one share per member and the tenth share to the school that earned the credits. The conference gets $2 million dollars per win. Rooting against Big East teams in the tournament is rooting against UConn's financial interests.
The BE is going to get SEC money because Pitino does well? Now who’s lost? The Yankees don't get paid for the Red Sox doing well. If you think the AL East and the Big East are similar you're even more lost than I thought.
Of course we won't have anything close to the money they do but every dollar counts. Donations, NCAA units, finding a conference for football before/if we get a Big 12 invite is all important. Everything matters because of our financial situation, rooting against our financial interests doesn't make any sense. The Big East money situation isn't because I didn't root for Creighton in the tourney this year. Big East has won 4 recent national championships. Are we rich yet? Have we bridged the gap? Of course not. We all know why. It's football and TV deals. We will always be inferior to power 4 when it comes to money. The SEC/Big 10 are the shot callers.
The Big East is incredibly reliant on NCAA tournament units. The conference got 18 million off this tournament, if the Johnnies went chalk that would be an additional 4 million bringing us to 22 million for the tournament. All of it matters and we should be rooting for more money for UConn.I don't know how the conference splits credits now, but back when it was a nine school conference (most of the 1980's) the conference administration held back a small amount for their operations then split the remainder ten ways; one share per member and the tenth share to the school that earned the credits.
I believe that it is very safe to say that at most we would have received an additional $140k (likely a little less) spread over seven years if St John's won a second game. That is far from enough to be concerned with.
Waylon, good one!The BE is going to get SEC money because Pitino does well? Now who’s lost?

You know what provides value in this context? Money. If the Johnnie's went chalk.....
If the B1G pick us instead of Rutgers we wouldn't need to worry about a home for our football program or how competitive we can remain across the board in the current landscape.
You can do a lot with ifs, but outside of one's imagination they don't provide much value.
UConn showing interest:
If there was some guarantee that St John's doing well would lead to us getting enough additional money that it would move the needle I would alter my view. You know what provides value in this context? Money.
You shouldn't poo poo any money we get as not enough and make it out to be less than what it is because the SEC blows us out of the water in terms of money.
Someone really smart must have said this! All of this avoids the point made earlier that who you root for doesn't affect the outcome.
A certain group of you all way over exaggerate how bad Ross was at the end of the season. He did everything fine but shoot. You vouched for Ross to get more mins late in the season, he got some, looked shaky as he did ALL SEASON, and then still pushed the agenda.
Your statements are outlandish, I can appreciate being a huge fan and thinking our players can shoot for the moon, but being realistic also helps sometimes, less of a let down when things inevitably don’t work out as you hope.
Well he kept on falling for shot fakes even at the end of the season on defense. There is a reason why we saw more of Stewart playing defensive stopper than Ross at the end of the year. I hope Ross improves and and can contribute but we didn't really see it this year from him.A certain group of you all way over exaggerate how bad Ross was at the end of the season. He did everything fine but shoot.
I really hope we get a chance to see him as the starter next year so yall can continue to learn how important roles and opportunity is to how well a player plays lol

We know how roles and opportunity work. Seems we all know better than you, actually.A certain group of you all way over exaggerate how bad Ross was at the end of the season. He did everything fine but shoot.

Here's the scoop:
Meechie spent two seasons at Ohio State, transferred and spent two seasons at South Carolina, transferred and spent one season at Ohio State, transferred and will spend next season at South Carolina.

I hope that at this time next year I’m saying @HuskyWarrior611 you were right and I was wrong. If he improves enough to take a starting job from someone, that would be a huge bonus for the team next year.A certain group of you all way over exaggerate how bad Ross was at the end of the season. I agree with many of your takes but I'm out on this one. What makes college sports great is emotion and passion, even in the age of NIL/transfer portal. I can't think of anything more emotionless than rooting for a rival you don't like and hates your team for an amount of money that doesn't move the needle. I get the concept of every little bit counts, but outside of a power 4 invite or a sugar daddy donor coming out of the woodwork, not much else more elevates the situation all that much. I bet on St Johns a couple times this year and still rooted against them. Winning the bet was a silver lining to them winning which is exactly what them getting tourney wins and conference money would be to me.Of course we won't have anything close to the money they do but every dollar counts.
