Transfer Portal Starting to Load

Tyler Betsey-Cincinnati SF from Windsor, Ct- In portal. Probably dependent on AK decision as to interest

Basically he will be ready for Conference play , peaking in march. Not a bad bet

We were a finalist along w/ Bama...

Stats aren't pretty, but there's lots of talent there.
 
I liked Betsey a lot in high school recruiting, but I didn't dig into how well he played this year.

He said in an interview that the unwritten rule of not going after players in your conference is over. I think he will consider transfers from other Big East teams.

Do we? I know everyone is saying he's back, but Dan Hurley said on the Dan Patrick show that we have one more guy deciding whether to stay or portal. Unless I'm forgetting someone, it's gotta be Ross, no? And the way he said it, it seemed like it was tied to if AK returns.

Was curious and went to the Cinci board where they were kind of "good-riddance" to him. Repeated thoughts that he could shoot, but was unathletic, didn't play D, and didn't rebound.

What's the rule we have on here? Until someone announces they're leaving or enters the portal they're still at UConn.

For what we need right now, he may be a decent fit. Off the bench development kid.

If I read your post correctly, Ross is waiting for Alex to decide. If Alex comes back, Ross will leave. If Alex goes, Ross stays. Either way, we still need another forward. Wouldn’t it make sense for Danny to bring in a better player than Ross, sooner than later, as a lot of available talent is flying off the portal?

If we get penalized for using the power of deduction based on our coach being candid publicly, then the warden here is truly on a wacked power trip.

I’m wondering what Karabans hold up can he at this point. He knows his position with the NBA - nothing to be discovered there. Only thing is confirming NIL is there.

Not getting into any of it. I was just generally confused whether we knew one way or the other. FWIW, I think Ross can be a really good player. Confidence is the great equalizer. The skills are there, IMO.

And we absolutely could use another forward up front to hopefully be a backup 4/5 as needed.

Okay, that's how I interpreted it, then. He didn't make a direct correlation but said we have two waiting to decide. One decision (AK) is coming "sometime soon, maybe this week," and "another guy deciding."

Yes, we currently have 8 guys for next season and we could have 10 guys based on the decisions of AK and Ross.

Some people still have an archaic mindset and operate under the mindset of until a guy announces he's leaving he's on the team
