Gillepsie sounds interesting. Is he a good defender?
Don’t know much about him. I watched a couple games during the season and then 2 in the tournament, he took a bunch of bad shots but is evidently an efficient scorer so idk.

Now that he’s off the board I feel more comfortable saying that I really didn’t like the idea of him coming here lol
Yep glad we didn't get especially after watching this awful Marriot hotel commercial made me want him even less! LOL!

Nate Ament continues to hold out, and just today said he has no timeline. It's April!!

I'd have to think the agents are working the lines fast and furious trying to land the best deal/situation. There is a timeline, so you don't want to wait so long that you lose opportunities in the window.
We should get back in with him. He's a one and done talent.

Heck yeah If he’d play as a stretch 4 but hasn’t he said he wants to be a wing? Mullins and Furphy will be competing for minutes at SF as is.

Which is probably why he replaces Flagg, IMHO.

I think he'll wait till after the tourney is done to announce. Duke is the last of the five teams on his list still standing.

I'm saying we've won before with short point guards and people are dismissive of that.
Kemba and Bazz were both electric talents their freshman year. You could see the path to progression. They had their flaws early on, but they were fixable.

I haven't watched Cadeau a lot, but I don't see that "it" factor to become a top PG.

Different. Eras. They are not being dismissive, they are acknowledging the reality that much has changed in 11 years.
I mean, Mark Sears was one of the best PGs this year and he is 6'1".

The difference is Danny's preference, not that short PGs aren't viable for high level D1 play in 2025.

With that said, I don't think Cadeau has the skills to be a top-tier PG. I just don't see it.

He’s going to Michigan.

A healthy Bryce Hopkins will cause us fits next year. Dude is next level good. St. John's building a winner.

Rumblings that Demary will be a bidding war. Which tbh I’m fine with because I’d prefer a more pass first PG for the roster.

We have a lot of scorers and not enough playmakers. Need someone to feed all of them.

An under-the-radar guy I think could be a key role player (e.g. Stewart minutes) is the Bosnian xfer from Pitt, Amsal Delalić. I saw a number of his games with Pitt and believe he was underutilized there. LIsted as an SG, he could probably also play some SF. Can shoot the 3, decent defender, played sparingly in his one year at Pitt but got some run in a few games due to injuries to others. Has international pro experience. I would think 10-12 minutes/game with a competitive team and Hurley practices would be appealing to a guy like this. However, he's getting interest from several P4s, not sure if as a starter.

Semi OT but the would-be #2 pick in the upcoming WNBA draft is going back to college for her extra year and transferring. Extremely clear on the women's side that salaries are higher in college than pros right now. Gotta imagine there will be situations like this on the men's side too for fringe first/second round picks
