I'm guessing he's the son of the Jarvis era St John's Kyle Cuffe.

UConn recruited him out of HS, but didn't make his top 6

Had a knee injury. Played 3 minutes and had a medical redshirt. Several guards coming in.

Does anyone have any game footage for Apostolos Roumoglou? What’s his level of play,Etc. ?
It is very, very wishful thinking to say he will ever be a meaningful contributor.

Supposedly Hunter D decision announced today.. Guaranteed NIL package is one of the primary considerations re: his decision(per him).. Kentucky appears to be a non-factor for that reason.. Kansas/Maryland/Nova seem to be finalists because of their NIL resources. Will be interesting.

Amazing that Nova is perceived to have a better NIL program than Kentucky

Might be more about players(and recruits) on the team all expecting the NIL at Kentucky..ie.-- Spreading the wealth.. Rather than focusing on a few high profile guys in other Programs.. Oscar T decision to stay or go pro is probably influencing available NIL sources at Kentucky as well. Read he made 1M+ last season.

Dunleavey hire is getting Nova "up to the plate."

I thought the rule was that players could receive NIL, but not as a recruiting inducement. Obviously, it isn't the case, but I thought the pretense needed to be there to maintain eligibility. Isn't blatantly going to the highest bidder with guaranteed money still technically an eligibility violation if someone chose to make an issue of it to ncaa, (like another competing coach)?

I think it’s best to understand the terrain as the Wild West. Miami did not hide that they were outbidding players with LifeWallet, which is a fake company set up by Ruiz. As long as you pretend it’s legit, people seem to play along.

Not really. Kansas coaches can't say we'll give you $2M to commit to Kansas, but Kansas boosters can say you'll get endorsement deals with the Kansas City Ford dealership and Ricky's Tractors down the road if you come here. It's a distinction without a difference really, but guaranteeing NIL isn't technically against the rules

My two cents..I am not a NIL expert.. My source is out of an article by Trevor Woods ..Dated 5-3-23 8:07 PM CST.. Article titled "Hunter Dickinson reportedly prioritizing guaranteed NIL money in Transfer Decision"..

Out of that article --On3 NIL reporter Pete Nakos is quoted as having an interesting take on the NIL matter that sums up the situation perfectly. "In the case of Hunter Dickinson, we're seeing all sides of NIL", Nakos said. "Kentucky is making it clear that the dollars will flow after his commitment. Other schools are opting to possibly go the route of drafting contracts before he actually shows up on campus. Screw the 'Wild West' moniker, this is the norm in college sports in 2023."

I hope for his sake that Kansas doesn’t get smacked by the NCAA for the alleged Adidas controversy. That would be a shame.
Billy Preston.. A Kansas recruit who never played at Kansas.. Has gone on record as saying the Kansas coaching staff was aware of the money his mother was receiving from Adidas reps for his commitment to Kansas..Debatable whether Kansas will ever have to deal with this information but NCAA is currently looking into it.. Post season ban is in play for 2023 beyond the previous self-imposed ban.. Edit--Source SB Nation article by Nathan Beighle 5-2-23

If you believe Kansas is getting a postseason ban, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you

Tend to agree as I've never stated it will happen.. Simply that there is some more smoke.... But.. IMO.. the Kansas/Kentucky news could very well have an influence on HD's decision.. Bill S has shown a number of times that he's teflon with NCAA..

I'm good without the bridge in my Real Estate portfolio

I’m curious as to what first comes to mind w/ Preston for @kansashusky

Portal thread and HD has these two schools on his short list of 4..Decision soon.. Stories came out this week on two of his schools. Thought it was interesting because of timing and I'm sure Nova and Maryland aren't talking about this in their continuing recruiting pitches to HD.

It's Kansas

That game at the Phogg next season might be my only penciled in loss

Won’t some of these big programs prioritizing transfers turn off some big high school recruits going forward? I don’t know what Kansas recruiting class looks like but I wouldn’t think incoming freshman will like losing playing time.

They have the #6 class in the country, and no it won't. Because kids like to win and bringing in good players helps with that. Any top recruit knows they're going to be battling for playing time against top talent. If they don't want that they go commit to a lower level program like Eastern Michigan or Syracuse

It is a shame what the NCAA is coming to, but at the end of the day its all about the $$$. The universities with all of the NIL money will be no different then the Yankees, Dodgers or Lakers loading up on the top free agents every year.
