Nobody on this board wants to hear it, but Coach Cooley is a great motivator, a great coach and a great guy. People want to be around him. It’s difficult to win at Fairfield and Providence, but he should have more success at Georgetown where he can recruit the DMV. The only thing that bothers me are the allegations of infidelity because that never ends well.
Is the infidelity related to his wife or leaving the school which gave him a boost as a player and about which he fawned about how great it was to be able to come home as the head coach?

Huggy Bear is swinging for the fences next year:

West Virginia has added:

• Jose Perez (G) - Manhattan
• Omar Silverio (G) - Manhattan
• Kerr Kriisa (G) - Arizona
• Jesse Edwards (C) - Syracuse

Nice haul for Huggy Bear.

the 17 PPG disagrees with me here, but I didn't really love El Ellis' game. Seems very streaky and a guy that will take 15+ shots no matter what

Maybe an efficient volume scorer on a bad team. Maybe he'll get more efficient in a better program. Who knows

Strikes me as a guy who could do well with a coach who will hold him accountable and bench him for bad shots. I don't know if Musselman is that guy or not, but I hope so. He's a talented kid when he plays the right way.

Arkansas seems like a dumpster fire just switch out the entire roster year in and out. Was a big Mussleman fan early on but he seems like a fraud like so many others now.
I agree with your second point, but next year isn't just a clean slate: Arkansas returns their captain Devo Davis, arguably their best player, Trevon Brazile, a top-20 recruit from last year in Jordan Walsh, as well as two other top-100 recruits from last year. Also add two top-30 '23 guys.

That being said, Arkansas' transfer haul is insane:
  • Khalif Battle 6’5 175 SR from Temple, 17.9p, 3.6r, 1.8a, 1.0s, 35 3p%, 89.9 ft%
  • El Ellis 6’3 180 GR, 17.7p, 4.4a, 1.0s, 31.9 3p% i n36 mpg
  • Keyon Menifield 6’1 170 SO from Washington, 10p, 2.9r, 3.1a, 1.1s, 33.0 3p%, 28.7 mpg
  • Tramon Mark 6’5 195 SR from Houston, 10.1p, 4.9r, 1.1s, 32.8 3p%,
  • Jeremiah Davenport 6’7 210 GR from Cincy, 9.1p, 4.2r, 33.3 3p%, 25.6 mpg
Overall, as it stands, Arkansas' top-nine for next season is insanely good.

Hard to judge a kid who is the best player on a 4 win team. Arkansas needs shooters though

I’m a bit confused by this comment. Arkansas is going to be very good again next year. They’ve made 3 straight Sweet Sixteens and two Elite Eights in the past 3 years. Why is Musselman a fraud? Because he takes his shirt off?

And people here stress about a 6th man and panic that someone won't be in the starting lineup game 1.

ehhhh Ark went 9 deep this year and lost 6 of those 9 guys. imo Davis was their 3rd best player after Anthony Black and Ricky Council who are both going pro along with Nick Smith. they are also losing all their frontcourt depth with the mitchell twins and kamani johnson. i dont see any size on their roster next year other than brazile. they will be good but they lost more nba talent than they brought in.

They are bringing in a projected 1 and done center as well. A ton is riding on his shoulders but if he is as good as his ceiling suggests they could be real good

Arkansas must have crazy NIL money for this group of seniors and grad transfers to go to a school that looks like it will have a minutes logjam. At least one of Battle, Ellis, Mack and Davenport is going to be transferring to a school to play under 10 minutes a game the final season of their basketball career. Strange why anyone would do that.

Basically because he recruits a new team each year there’s no way that’s healthy. I am not stupid I see he buys great players year in and out.

Every school can buy players. Does Arkansas have some secret stash of NIL money for deep bench players?
