Transfer concern?

To AK's point, a player like Freeman (as a former 5-star) should be focusing more on who gets him to the league (and the big money) more than who is paying him a couple of million dollars more over the next two years.

If someone offers you 'a couple of million dollars more' to do the same job, you need to consider that very seriously.

This will shock some people, but there are 450-500 people who played in the NBA this year and like eight of them went to UConn. There's plenty of ways to get there - there's no magical portal in Storrs.

Lol. Easy to say that from the couch.
You were the one who posted the video. I guess I missed your prefacing comment: "And a few delusional words for former Husky Alex Karaban trying to explain why it was wise for him to throw away a ton of money to play for UConn so long. Perhaps his mother was right and he should have picked a better school for academics so he could understand how stupid he sounds right now."

I didn't say it had to be UConn. But he was a 5-star thinking NBA future and it would behoove him to try to regain some of that stock at whatever school he chooses.

Choosing Syracuse wasn't a shrewd move though (and I am going to be he wasn't motivated by their superior coaching).

Edit to add that I have already said to all the people laughing about Rob Wright III transferring yet again that he is handling it correctly. Make the most money possible when the NBA isn't likely in your future.

Very intelligent insights by Alex about the long term money finding the guys who do things the right way basketball wise. Unfortunately, the short term can be another story with guys trying to make the quick buck. Hard to blame their impulse since the money may seem significant but early in one’s career building a strong foundation is the key.

Players deserve to be making money since everyone else involved are from coaches to the NCAA. But, what better basketball blueprint for Reibe than Clingan, a pathway that also achieved financial goals / yet everyone marches to a different drummer and timeframe and we must respect that also - even if we think they are making a mistake.

If you can make an extra 2mm today it’s hard to turn your head. I’m more disgusted by sone of these low basketball IQ desperate programs resetting the market in ways that hurt the sport (hint: they reside in Kentucky).

You might think the B1G might like UConn and Duke.

Been a number of YouTube drops by B12 Lockedon types talking about bringing UConn on.

It’s fairly evident at this point the B12 has a clear ceiling in FB. That will be owned by fhe B10 and then SEC. With the B10 now moving in on hoops, it could behoove the B12 to strengthen their BB brand before the B10 takes that too.

The Market is setting itself

Reports that NIL wants are wayyy too high

Anyone who jumps in now, is overpaying

in positions of scarcity (center), this is most telling

bunker hill mindset needed, unless its THE guy you most covet (think Freeman might be)

Donnie Freeman is a player, can score from anywhere on the floor. No stretch 4 here, Freeman has some power to his game. Good size and weight for the position, listed at 6'9 230, 2 years of eligibility.

Kind of game we've been hoping Stew to develop. I wonder how he is defensively. Ideal fit for our need. We also know he was not maximizing his game at Syracuse. Hopefully UK doesn't muck it up - I can't stand them.

I have no doubt Danny and staff will land a few big fish. But we also need some quality depth in one or two spots. I am fascinated to see who we bring in to strengthen our bench.
