To AK's point, a player like Freeman (as a former 5-star) should be focusing more on who gets him to the league (and the big money) more than who is paying him a couple of million dollars more over the next two years.
If someone offers you 'a couple of million dollars more' to do the same job, you need to consider that very seriously.
This will shock some people, but there are 450-500 people who played in the NBA this year and like eight of them went to UConn. There's plenty of ways to get there - there's no magical portal in Storrs.
