If anything, I’m more concerned we haven’t re-signed Solo, Silas, Stew yet (although I’m not particularly concerned - until otherwise informed, I fully assume those guys are returning and it’s simply a matter of hammering out the details).

They always take a long time to officially sign for a variety of reasons. Silas came later in the month last year too.

Nothing to worry about right now, gotta figure out who’s returning first. Staff has more than earned patience

I’m concerned that we haven’t set up any visits. Gapping holes at the 4 and 5. Not concerned that guys haven’t signed, concerned that nobody is saying UConn is high on their list.

Silas signed on April 3rd last year and Malachi was on the 14th by comparison. However, I’m sure the final four finished earlier on the calendar, and we finished much earlier in the season, even if the portal opened at relatively the same time.

More importantly, I think this is a trickier season in the portal. We have a whole front court to replace, and that budget / success probably has downstream impacts on current players…

It’s dominos… and we don’t have enough visibility into all the pieces. I’m personally a little concerned but also have a lot of faith and expect big things.

Interestingly, the transfer portal opened before the title game last year… it opened on March 24th, so it took about 10 days to sign Silas…

Lots of schools haven't signed anyone yet (including SJU) I don't think the guys we're targeting have signed anywhere yet. We have Hurley & $ so we'll have a full team at some point.

Not concerned as I take anyone silent to mean they stay.

For incoming transfers it can take as the portal entry period expires on Monday but signing can go on for some time.

And we might not get a 4 as Hurley had used 3 guard sets a lot so you get a 5 and either a 3 or 4 but not both. We were 3less multiple times with AK in (Newton/Castle/Spencer or Silas/Solo/Braylon) and a Center.

If we land a solid 5 things will start to click.

UConn has always been stealth in thier process. They also play the same game everyone does. It’s entirely possible the guys we want aren’t in the portal yet.

Everyone needs to hold their horses. Who has signed a transfer? StJ hasn't, Duke hasn't. In many cases, it's the teams throwing bags around recklessly that have.

My guess is we'd see our guys play out this week - really has to happen first.

They've moved the opening of the transfer portal back each of the last 3 years on request from the coaches. I'm pretty sure 2 years ago it opened just after the regular season was over.

Sigh. This staff is going to get exactly who they want at the 4 and 5, and we’ll be happy. Please just give it a couple weeks people.

I truly think we have a chance to put together a better roster than last year with how this could be shaking out
