Yep. One of the coaches from the ECF will wind up in the Hall of Fame. The other will not. I get that sometimes coaching superiority can be a bit subtle at the NBA. This was not one of those times.

This isn't even a small sample size. This is what Carlisle has been for 25 years. This is what Thibs has been for 15 years.
 
If he did go id definitely watch 5x's as many Knicks regular season games as I watched this year.

He’d adjust - Dan isn’t dumb, he can adapt.

The bigger issue is this is a win now team and not paired well with a first time NBA coach. Can’t afford a year or two of figuring it out while they’re in their prime.

It's also the most talented team I remember them having. They put the roster together to knock off the Celtics and to try and win the championship.

They have 4 guys who are considered top 50 in the league with Brunson back to back second team all-NBA.

Current odds to be the next head coach. +2000 for Hurley makes me feel better, for now.

Yea you putting way too much sauce on it. Thibs got outcoached but based on the locked NBA playoff thread before the series started Knicks fans on here seriously underrated the Pacers because y'all were dismissing them like they had no chance in the series.
 
Unnerving that Danny hasn’t given some kind of coach k type answer about sticking with the program for the foreseeable future no matter what opens. I suspect he just wants to use it as leverage in future contract negotiations. But I also think he will make the jump when he’s 60+.
 
It’s alright, whoever is hired next will be fired within 2-5 years (even if they make or win a finals) knowing the NBA, so Dan can catch them next time.

But he'd have a pretty good chance of being one of the 28 teams who makes the nba playoffs. By that time he'd have figured something out.
 
James Dolan messed with my NBA fandom. When I realized what a l clown he is, I stopped supporting the Knicks until he leaves.

His idiocy better not screw up the great situation at UConn.
 
Hurley and his family have a great situation here on every level. He’s the kingpin in Ct. As a Knick coach he’s just one of 8 pro coaches.
He Iives in the city or Jersey it’s a big pain in the ass, and he doesn’t need the money which BTW will ALWAYS be there for him.
Completely shocked if he did this but this board has melted down over it not surprisingly.
 
I don't think Dan will even entertain this position at this time. It will be much like him going to UK, ain't happening (and UK seems to have landed their man)

If he does go on interviews again, well then that's a bad look for him. And I don't think he's that guy

The NBA will be there whenever he wants, maybe after his contract expires

Not sure I see much meltdown going on home slice. Just dialogue.

All really pointing to the Cavs assistant coach.

He said he's not doing it and basically said he wants a drama free summer with his team.

I believe him.
