That was the only part of the half they looked good vs Butler.

I know. Florida's guards do not have great court vision. They frequently miss open shooters and cutters. A team needs some easy shots to win against good teams, and Florida doesn't get enough.

Pretty big day for the Big East and they are off to a great start. Butler destroys Florida and St Johns beats undefeated West Virginia. But remember. There’s no difference between the BE and AAC.

Still to come. Creighton-Nebraska Villanova-St Joe’s Xavier-Cincinnati Marquette-Kansas State Georgetown-SMU

How does Butler, formerly of the Horizon and whatever other cow conferences it was in, never make a mistake with a head coach?

Butler, Xavier, Marquette all seem to need a new coach every 5 years and always make a hire that keeps them good. What sucked about Mack leaving Xavier is he was an alum and you’d think he want to be the guy to finally lead his alma mater to the promise land. Butlers new coach is an alum so hopefully he stays a while.

BTW. Great crowds/atmospheres at Hinkle and MSG today. That’s another huge plus big East has over the aac.

Butler's last bad Head Coach was in the 1980's. By comparison, Depaul has had 1 above average Head Coach (Leitao) since Ray Meyer retired, and some of the other ones were terrible. Wainwright was one of the worst major program basketball coaches I can remember seeing.

Creighton laying the hurt on Nebraska. It says more about Nebraska than it does about Creighton. Nebraska looks terrible. Nebraska is missing 3 foot uncontested layups, not rotating on defense, they just look bad.

Memphis getting smoked by UAB in the first half. Good pressure on D by Memphis but their offense is sloppy, at least tonight.

I’ve been talking a ton of smack so now I need to give Buddy some credit. Against (bad) GTech today he was 8/15, 6/13, 4/4, for 26 points in a blowout win

American is having a rough computer rankings day. Tulsa lost to Arkansas State. Cincinnati made the final score look closer than the game actually was. Temple melted down in the last 4 minutes against Missouri. SMU is getting thumped by Georgetown. Unless SMU makes a big comeback, this conference is looking at a really bad day, and this conference is running out of opportunities for good days.

Marquette/Kansas State is a really good game. Marquette should be up by 10+, but they have 12 turnovers and must have 5 travels this game. It is weird to see a high major team have troubles with footwork like this.

You have to put a team away when you are outplaying them, and Marquette didn't do it, and now it is a battle. This is a loss that will hurt Marquette they lose the game.

Georgetown playing like a team that had cancer removed from it. Beating the stuffing out of SMU in Moody. SMU finally playing someone decent. Their SOS was in the 300's.

If Marquette holds on it's a 7-0 day for the Big East. AAC with a stinker.

2 observations after watching all these games. 1. the atmosphere at some of these Big East games is light years ahead of AAC gyms. Hinkle in particular is magic sold out when Butler is good. Xavier and Creighton sold out and great too. Even SJU had an energetic crowd. The Temple game felt like it was played at a morgue.

And I know Hurley likes to talk about Year 3. But we gotta see some improvement this year because this AAC schedule does not even compare to what we will face next year in the Big East.

Today was a terrible day for us. Dropped 4 spots in Kenpom and created an even more uphill battle the rest of the season. Need to beat Indiana.

If you are able to find a recording, do yourself a favor and watch the Arkansas v WKU game.

Back and forth the entire game, but the game hit a dramatic blow when Charles Bassey landed awkwardly and had a nasty looking knee injury. It took WKU a few minutes to get their composure after that, but the trio of Anderson/Hollingsworth/Savage carried the team on their back and defeated Arkansas in OT.

One of the best games I've watched this year and WKU's top-seven is very impressive. Outside of Bassey, not a lot of size, but Taveion Hollingsworth and Josh Anderson are really good bucket getters. They've got good shooters in Camron Justice (who has a lot of Giffey in his game) and Jered Savage. Carson Williams is a powder keg 6'5 230 post player and Jordan Rawls is a promising freshman PG.

Good win for Wichita St. they climb to 36 in KenPom

Buffalo over DePaul 44 to 30 with 18 to go in the second half.
