This team sucks

Theyve been better than 14 teams so far. Not too shabby in my opinion.

Yep and we have had alot of close games which is good going into next year.

ban op imo. seems like a fair price to pay if you post 'team sucks' in the middle of an eventual win
I don't think that's fair.

He was clearly going for the reverse jinx, and it worked. We should all be thanking him.

Final four next year my ass. They'll be lucky to make the tournament

Can't rebound
Can't attack a zone (what else is new)
Neil's sucks (what happened)
Wolff can't stay out of foul trouble.
Boat and Bazz can't stay healthy
Can't rebound
Can't rebound...
Ollie resembles this kid... https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=good job good effort&source=web&cd=5&ved=0CEMQtwIwBA&url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7io6gs5A7U&ei=bBYLUYfUFfCu0AHs6oHwDA&usg=AFQjCNHAjDMjuS5MfaxXKVtg0JpuojZoag&bvm=bv.41867550,d.dmQ

Seriously stop watching them and go follow tiddly winks

This team may end up with a better Big East regular season record than any of the last 3 teams, including one that won a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, and another that had two first round picks. And they're a heck of a lot tougher than 2 of those 3 teams.

I think UConn will play next year with a chip on their shoulder the size of Mount Everest. There will be NO TEAM in the United States of America more dangerous then UConn next year. I believe Ollie will strategically play that card. Folks we have a lot to look forward to next year. Bazz will return as will the BoatShow. Wolf & Olander with all their imperfections will become seniors becoming more consistent and serviceable. We will get periodic contributions from Facey and Brimah with just the right amount of consistency to create the Texas barbecue sauce we need on our ribs to reach the Final Four at Texas stadium next April. It is going to be a feast of monumental proportions!

I love how if we don't blow teams out than were obviously not good at all........as a matter of fact "we suck". Coming of the most tumultuous offseason possible, losing people left and right, coaches and players alike. Couple that with contract disputes, a major deficiency in the size component and "we suck because we are 14-5. Those who feel that way need to get over the fact that we will have to win close games this year. This is an immensely gutty team, we shoot well from beyond the arc which has always been the case this decade, we are a great foul shooting team, we have solid role players, an awesome coach, and instinctual lightning quick basketball players. Now do they make mistakes? Yes. Does Boatright get out of control, and does Daniels disappear sometimes, and do we not d rebound all that well, and does Calhoun play like a freshman sometimes? Yes. Yes. Yes. and Yes. But what it comes down to is all of that equates to 14-5. And if we were tourney eligible we'd be looking at 4 or 5 seed, no where near a bubble team. Lets keep things in perspective and be positive.

How many minutes did he play in those games, out of curiosity? You can't foul out if you're benched for being in foul trouble
You can't make a dumb post if you're not on the boneyard. Now, make that happen.

You do realize that 98% of these monkeys will not know the difference between his handle and yours', don't you?

You should find him and smash his computer before he does any more damage to your reputation.

Dude, I think you need to relax. This is not a normal UConn year. I don't think many fans went into this season with any expectations the team would be real good. They've won 14 out of 19 games and been right there in 4 of the 5 losses (I'm not counting just a half with Louisville so that's the one game they weren't very competitive). They play hard and they have heart and balls. I'm not sure what else you could be looking for from this team.

About next year. There are certain pieces of this team that aren't very good. There are pieces that are very good and will be better next year. Fix those things that aren't very good with some players who play their role well and I can see how this team could be very good next year. It's not like they're getting blown out every game.

What reputation? I certainly see no difference between the two.

Everyone is so sensitive on here. If he's still buying season tickets and showing up to games, he can say whatever he wants. Fans say things, some smart, some dumb. Move on.
Would you consider flaming on him a smart thing or a dumb thing!:)

Players and teams have standards to follow! Same with posters. If a poster can't stand the heat, that poster should not give any! He can flame at the team all he wants. It's a fan's prerogative. And others can flame on him. Their prerogative! It would be a disservice to move on. He wouldn't get the chance to desensitize. :)

You know, I did actually think about that for a moment.

And then I realized I just don't give a duck* what these nutjobs think about me.

I wanted to make some similar point about you becoming guilty by association! Fishy beat me to it. I agree you don't have to care what the 98% say. Just what us 2%'s write.

Wolf just fouled FYI
No, he was CALLED for a foul. You may not think there is a difference, but at least twice he DID NOT FOUL. Those refs sucked. Jim Calhoun wouldn't have made it to halftime, and I wouldn't have blamed him one bit.

I don't know about anyone else, but this year (and any other year UConn doesn't make the NCAA's) I cross out Lipscomb or Iona or SW Bums State and put in UConn as a 16 and every time they run the table and win. Every time I never win money.

.-.
we will have to land a couple NBA quality bigs to be a final 4 team next year and I don't see Bazz staying another season.

Where's he going? To play in League Siberia, because he won't sniff the NBA, atleast not after this season. If anything the kid needs another year, he's not even close to being ready to make that jump to the big show.

I posted about Ollie being Outcoached and everyone went crazy on here. Good luck to you...

As a rookie there will be many games where Ollie is out-coached this season, less next year and the year after and the year after, etc... Did you expect something else? Its up to the players to play hard, play good defense disguising Ollie's newness. He's a rookie for goodness sakes, replacing a legend.

I'll take a Coach that's 10 toes in, walking stairs, not riding escalators all day. If you don't see the potential in our Couch then go to another team and cheer their coach. Come back in 5 years and see how talented he has become. I'm 10 toes in, all day, every day.

This team has an obvious weakness in the front court but we have 14 wins. This team does not suck.
An obvious weakness in the front court is saying it nicely but whatever this team lacks in talent at the 4/5 it more than makes up for it with heart, effort, and chemistry. That is all Ollie. I will say it again, in a lost season, this team's effort and how they have conducted themselves throughout has not only be a surprise but an absolute joy to watch. Kudos to the players and the staff for representing what UCONN hoops is about, regardless of any postseason ban or weak frontcourt!

what a classic thread, blowhard central

We're 14-5 (4-3 Big East) and on our way to improve on both win totals this year. All in a season where arguably 4 of our top 5 best players left the program, and we aren't eligible for the postseason. I give KO and the kids 5 stars thus far. This is one of my favorite UConn teams ever

There are a lot of PG's in the NBA who were not as good in college as Bazz is right now. Whether they improve or not is up to them. That being said, Bazz is not really at the same level AJ Price was at in 2009, and AJ has not secured a starting spot in the NBA yet.

You know, I sit here and wonder if Bazz has the speed or quickness to make it in the NBA, then I think of guys like Stockton and Nash and realize that he's got more physical talent than either one of those guys. You can see him getting smarter and becoming a better leader game by game. I'd love to see him stay and think that another year under KO will help him more than being a backup in the NBA or learning zilch in the D league. But if he decides to go, I wish him well and believe that he's got a future in the league as long as he's in the right situation.

I see Shabazz having a solid NBA career. With the spacing and offensive talent in the league, he's going to rack up the assists, and he can really shoot it when opposing teams give him room.

Totally agree,

I'm not trying to bash Bazz, as he's my favorite player on this team currently, but really trying to see the truth without wearing my "husky goggles"
Not sure of actual stats, but just going off what I see having watched atleast 90% of uconn games since 95' I'd put:
Kemba, AJ Price, Khalid El Amin, & Marcus Williams ahead of Bazz as "potential" for succeeding in the NBA, not counting actual stats, bc it's unfair to do so depending on different rosters. However, I truly believe an extra year under Ollie will help him tremendously.... Just don't believe he's ready right now....plus he's only 6' on a good day.
