I think I finally understand your username now. You're one of those fans that's only there during the great years, the ones where adversity is easily overcome because our guys are the ones with the bevy of talent and can outman the teams that are undermanned. Turn the tables and you bail faster than a thing that bails out of things because they're a scared word for a feline.

I think we all realized it was going to be a hard year but I've never once questioned the fight in our guys despite their talent and roster shortcomings. Why don't you go root for Cuse or something, they'll win plenty of meaningless games for you and then you can hop back on the UConn bandwagon when we are loaded up for another run.

And another thing, I'm not saying they'll be Final Four bound, but if you can't look at this team and see what an infusion of even a modicum of freshmen frontcourt talent and the returning guys being a year wiser and stronger could do then you have no faith in something you claim to fervently follow.

I'm not saying you need to have blinders, and I get as frustrated by the mental lapses by some of our guys as much as the next person, but you sound like you want to cut bait. I root for our guys through thick and thin and I'll be there in my seats next year too, and the year after, and the year after, and the year after....

We already know that this team isn't very good. It's us (or at least me) wondering what you expect to accomplish by making a thread like this. Are threads like this supposed to foster some kind of entertaining/thoughtful/constructive conversation? Is this thread adding anything?

For the record, I still support them. KO has preached as recently as this week that its about getting better every day. We're not going to a tournament this year so it's not all about W's..it's about getting better. Tell me how this team has gotten better since MSU...since NM...since Louisville...since Pitt...

I've seen significant improvement from multiple players throughout the year. Whether it be Daniel's aggressiveness, or Wolf making himself more of a presence, or Calhoun, Giffey, Wolf or even Nolan's evolutions as young college players, to Boat and Bazz's coexistence, or their attempts at instituting a stout zone (which has been painful at times), or even how they've attacked the zone in this second half by getting a wing into the foul line area to either distribute or attack the rim. There are just things this team is going to find it hard to overcome, like having immovable rebounding presences in the lane. They'll get there.

Calhoun played his best game of the year... TONIGHT.
Daniels looks infinitely better. Boatright had a down game, but Bazz was Bazz. The bigs spent a few weeks building up rebounds and looked to improve--but then they gave it all away tonight. So--in short, the bigs had a bad night. The top guys are still playing well, and our two enigmas (Calhoun and Daniels) look so much better.
