I wouldn't even consider those two ancillary characters. You hear their names a lot, but they have no more than a dozen lines total and ultimately have no real part in the plot. Wee Bey, Slim Charles, and Cheese are more "ancillary" IMO and you definitely don't forget them

Wee-Bey is the ultimate soldier. When he's copping to murders for another pit beef sandwich with extra horseradish is one of my all-time favorite moments in the show. Nahhhhhh

Season 4 episode 1. Character I've never once heard mentioned in The Wire circles, special agent Fitz. Quietly a great character.

I actually finished S1 of my fourth play through last night. Kicking off S2 now.

I will say that I really just started it back over because I mostly wanted to re-watch S2, but wanted to watch S1 since obviously S1 sets up S2, which sets off the comprehensive story arc. I'll see if I keep going past S2. I may do S3 just because of Bunny. But then S4 is next arguably the best season of television ever, so I have to see that. Then at that point S5 will be all that's left
 
I loved season 2...Sobatka! Also, I really enjoy the closing song on each episode "The Fall"....put it on my iPhone
 
Just finished season 5 a couple days ago.

It has some fantastic moments.

Mcnulty in quantico might be the best scene in entire series
 
The only season of The Wire that I thought dragged a bit was the one that featured Lord Baelish.

I wish Idris Elba could have kept on a while longer, but other than that, the show was brilliant
