The Undefeated: Hail Colorado!

Doubt NAU can do it. But 100% on Texas. That will be a "game", for sure. Could go either way.

In today's game I was surprised that Copeland started for Ware, but didn't play much. I think it was a match-up question, New Mexico was particularly quick, especially early.
Copeland couldn't defend New Mexico. They were blowing by her. I had concerns about her in that regard from the minute I saw her play.

Pellington couldn't deal with their zone, compounding the Copeland issue. So, Adia went small and put her best shooters (Conner, Chavez, and Pueyo) on the floor. Once she got that group in with a combo of Reese, Thomas, and Yeaney, they were able to put it away.

I imagine she will use a similar lineup against NAU. I seem to remember them giving Arizona some trouble in an empty McKale last year, at least early. We will have to see if they can improve on that at home at altitude and if Arizona can sort itself without Ware. Adia said after New Mexico that she won't play Ware even against Texas if she feels she isn't 100%.

Next team out will definitely be SCar or Duke.

I guess i have to pick Duke to be next out but I’m nervous about that short road trip ( and the hell triaddukefan will put us through if they pull off the upset.)

And Coastal Carolina goes down to St. Mary's by 3. Tough break for my home town team, the Chants.

My first miss. I had them staying a bit longer..

Oh well, Duke falls tonight (I hope, I hope, I hope.).
Sandwich (with Mayo) trap game for us. Hopefully, we'll be up.

Getting butterflies now.. And I ain't even playing tonight

Not you scared the day of the game

Not scared... Just nervous excitement.. Always get before I attend a big game in Durham.. I got a feeling about tonight.. Just saying.. Just saying

Welp, being undefeated was fun while it lasted

Apparently that feeling was hunger pangs

Be proud of your team for never giving up!

I was thinking we were gonna get run out of our own gym when it was 17-3... but things settled down and it eventually things got almost close enough to make yall sweat a bit.

The Duke-SC game went pretty much as expected. Not surprised that Duke found a way to get it close in the end.

Turnovers for Duke is going to be something to watch for the balance of the season. Taylor and Day-Wilson had 10 out of the team's 19. That can't continue, especially during conference play with the top tier teams in the ACC.

I can live with Day-Wilson's turnovers a bit more because they are mostly out of being too aggressive. Taylor's on the other hand.... are more careless and boneheaded.

Games before Xmas to monitor

SAT: Stan @ Tenn
SUN: UNC @ BC (possibly best BC team in years .... not that that's saying a lot)
SUN: Tex v Ariz @ Vegas
SUN: Drake @ Neb
TUE: Stan @ SC
TUE: Loy-Ch @ Clev St

Colo & Tulsa should remain undefeated thru the 25th

Both of them had careless turnovers yesterday.

I didn't see the turnovers by Day-Wilson happening due to being overly aggressive. Maybe her last shot attempt because they were trying for a quick score, but that's it.

This is a weak spot of hers that gets overlooked from my perspective. She's averaging 4 a game currently. How long can you live with it if the trend continues?

Saw that BC game as a potential pitfall given the Eagles surprisingly strong start. BC led by 11 midway through the 4th and 7 with 2:30 mins to go but NC turned things up on both ends of the floor and pulled it out.
NC closed on 10-0 run.
