The Undefeated: Hail Colorado!

South Carolina's fans were the largest in attendance the last time they played in Cameron. I would expect the same this time around. They travel well....
Yes, but this is a Wednesday night in December, so the Gamecock contingent will mostly be people local to the Triangle area.

That's good.... the less chicken fans, the less chance of an all out brawl scuffle in the stands between the two fanbases.:p
Im debating making the trip just for a chance to finally give you a knuckle sandwich ;).

I could see this happening in a very low scoring affair. Arizona is likely to fall in one of these poor shooting affairs.
I don't think it's going to happen, but the likelihood increased a bit with Lauren Ware's injury. Still, it's in McKale. It's an environment that few in WBB experience if they aren't South Carolina, Oregon, Oregon State, etc.

Besides, low-scoring isn't really a problem for Arizona. They're much better offensively this year, but being able to defend was the reason they succeeded the past 3 years.

More likely to knock off Arizona early are NAU (it's being played in Flagstaff) or Texas. Texas was supposed to have a home-and-home with Arizona but apparently used last year's COVID-19 cancelation to reneg on the return game. Arizona knocked them out of the Top 25 for the first time in years and had Aari McDonald drop 44 on them in Austin two years ago. It's going to be in Vegas and Ware might still be out then, so it could well go in the Longhorns' favor.

Next up 7-0 Long Beach @ Oregon. I guess LB utilizes a full court press all game. We’ll see how that goes. Scherr was fine against Portland with 6 A and 1 TO. Bigby and Hosendove strengthen the bench today.

BYU was the popular first out choice and our “experts” got it right.

Calling Long Beach State the next out.

Secretly hoping this happens specifically because for one of the seniors on the team. Justina King has been a key piece for how Long Beach has gotten to where they are. Continues to work hard on improving her game. She's a good example of finding the right fit so you can contribute right away while getting better.

As long as the sandwich has some Duke's mayo

Nebraska improved to 10-0. How long can they go w/out a loss? Drake up next. Conference play starts end of December, Michigan St. up first, then next 4 Michigan, Iowa, Indiana and Iowa again. No way they get thru that 4 game stretch unscathed.

Nailed it. Stayed in the game the whole way but came up short.

Ducks by 9 pinning the first loss on Long Beach State. Oregon is not a Top 25 team as currently constituted but they got this one. Next up an easier assignment with McNeese State coming in.

Folks I had a mistake in the Original listing showing Youngstown’s next game a Canisius. Their next game is actually today (Sunday) against Penn State. Thus, I am picking them as next (third) out.

New Mexico made a run at it in the first half, but Arizona pulled away in the second half to remain undefeated.

Another correct call. Penn St. by 20.

Fun fact: The first basketball game I ever attended was USC MBB versus Canisius in the mid 70s. That was when Carolina had Alex English and Mike Dunleavy in the garnet and black.

Doubt NAU can do it. But 100% on Texas. That will be a "game", for sure. Could go either way.

In today's game I was surprised that Copeland started for Ware, but didn't play much. I think it was a match-up question, New Mexico was particularly quick, especially early.

Copeland couldn't defend New Mexico. They were blowing by her. I had concerns about her in that regard from the minute I saw her play.

Pellington couldn't deal with their zone, compounding the Copeland issue. So, Adia went small and put her best shooters (Conner, Chavez, and Pueyo) on the floor. Once she got that group in with a combo of Reese, Thomas, and Yeaney, they were able to put it away.

I imagine she will use a similar lineup against NAU. I seem to remember them giving Arizona some trouble in an empty McKale last year, at least early. We will have to see if they can improve on that at home at altitude and if Arizona can sort itself without Ware. Adia said after New Mexico that she won't play Ware even against Texas if she feels she isn't 100%.

Next team out will definitely be SCar or Duke.

I guess i have to pick Duke to be next out but I’m nervous about that short road trip ( and the hell triaddukefan will put us through if they pull off the upset.)

And Coastal Carolina goes down to St. Mary's by 3. Tough break for my home town team, the Chants.

My first miss. I had them staying a bit longer..

Oh well, Duke falls tonight (I hope, I hope, I hope.).
Sandwich (with Mayo) trap game for us. Hopefully, we'll be up.
