OT: The Old, the Obscure, and The Forgotten - Round 2

Now here's one that is truly old and obscure- I remember it as early teen in '63 - don't think it was ever a big hit but nevertheless a good tune:

I remember hearing this song by her on the radio during WWII. REALLY brings back memories!
I am just a bit too young to remember it airing during the war. But my older siblings are. And my dad used to sing it around the house, if you could call it singing!

The Proclaimers had one large hit that everyone in the US titles "500 Miles" has probably heard because of it's inclusion in the sound track for the movie "Benny and Joon." They had success in the UK, Australia and New Zealand but not much buzz here in the states. I doubt many have heard this song unless the have the "Sunshine on Leith" album stashed away somewhere.

And here is another UK band that was basically a one hit wonder in the US but was popular at home, Dexy's Midnight Runners with "Geno" which seems particularly appropriate for the Boneyard for the title at least.

.-.
Not old , but a remake of the Jackie De Shannon classic by the Isley Brothers and Santana. Carlos is so damn good!

Here is one both old and obscure. A doo wop song very popular in Pittsburgh and played by local disc jockey Terry Lee who was a hit maker on WMCK in McKeesport,Pa.

Santana....yea, so good. This one is "Treat", live at Tanglewood in the summer of 1970 - getting up there now age wise, but still as delightful as ever:

The Cox Family never gained widespread popularity, but I think they were fairly well known among other musicians. Alison Krauss in particular championed them, producing some of their albums and doing a collaboration with them. They weren't much for song writing, mostly interpreted bluegrass and country standards. The band was a father and 3 adult children. I think all of them sang lead vocals some, although it was primarily 2 of the kids taking turns. They have many lovely songs, hard to pick one.

(I'm wracking my brain trying to think of another song thread to start and coming up with NOTHING; anybody else got something to help us pass the time?)

Here's one that truly came from another era - Toni Fisher, The Big Hurt:

I just came across this -- I don't think I'd seen any footage of this incarnation of King Crimson. It's a very entertaining watch:

Now here's one that touches all 3 categories - Brazilian jazz, and I remember it drifting through the open windows of my parents house during the summer:
