The Official 2025 NY Jets thread

You're not wrong.

Take the Saints, for instance. They were 6-11 but Shough ended the season playing really well and they won 4 of their last 5. They played tough, showed heart and have something to build on.

The only thing the Jets have going for them right now is it can't get any worse. That's pathetic.
I don’t think that’s a fair comparison…the Saints closed out their season with a rookie quarterback playing well and they didn’t trade away their best defensive starters midseason.

The Jets did a have a period mid season where they looked decent…but then they trade Sauce and Quinnen…and they benched Fields and Wilson goes on IR. Hard to look good at the end of the season with those circumstances.

I think the jury is out on AG..but I don’t think everything that happened at the end of the year is on him. I do think that they decided to unofficially tank…and it’s hard to look good on the field in those circumstances.

You know I love you, Shaky....but I think you're being kind. They were 1-7 with Sauce and Quinnen, Fields getting hurt probably made them BETTER and the deficit they were outscored in their last 5 games is beyond reprehensible. Mitch Trubisky looked like Johnny Unitas out there.

The Saints sent Shough out there in weeks 17 and 18 with Audric Estime at RB and no Olave. Shough was a 2nd rd pick, not a blue chipper and they actually developed him through the season. Unlike paying Justin Fields 40 million on his 3rd team to go entire halves with less than 25 yds passing.

I'm so down on this franchise right now. I wish I could just fast forward past the next 2 seasons to either be .500 or welcome in the new coach and GM.

Saints were also in some of the worst salary cap hell of any team in the NFL. So they were essentially forced to avoid the more expensive veterans at QB and other positions and just go young. Sometimes that helps you avoid mistakes. I credit the Jets deadline trades with an indication that they know there's no quick fix. Draft and develop.

I don't get the troll. All indications are Harbaugh and the Giants are all-in right now. Isn't that nerd McDaniel still your HC?
And why in the Jets thread instead of the Giants thread? Pretty sure Miami won't be getting Flores back. Chris Shula would obviously be a very interesting option.

Ya gotta admit…in the beginning to mid part of the season they looked respectable. Remember the Pitt game? Yes…the record sucked but they ended up picking up a couple wins.

My point is that the last 6 games or so were attributable to the Jets trading away the top 2 guys on D…players on IR…and deciding to tank the season by playing what’s his face at QB. They didn’t even go back to Taylor when they could.

AG made 2 very bad decisions…going with WIlks and signing Fields. He never could recover from them and they decided at midseason to start over again.

Unless Harbaugh changes..I don’t get why he is so appealing? He was always too conservative to close out big games. Also….the fact he couldn’t get on the same page with Jackson is troubling.

He is a good old school coach…but when I think of top current coaches he isn’t in the discussion.

McDaniel the special needs child? Yep. That is why the chance of getting Harbaugh is enticing. Things move fast but this morning the NYG and Fins were prominently mentioned, along with even the Jets (hence the friendly troll.) I think Glenn is a much better HC and leader than McDaniel.

Every team with an opening wants Harbaugh. Why would he go to the Dolphins?
