I disagree with his take. I’d rather see if Cook has any value as a backup going forward. To me that’s worth more than the very slight increase in the chance of winning a meaningless game.

I agree…but Cimini believes they have seen enough of Cook and they already know that he has no value as a starter of backup. That seemed a bit harsh to me. I don’t think he has been that bad.

Seems like giving him another shot helps them confirm his future..and helps them get a better draft pick.

I didn’t know throwing a rookie into three games with NO ONE at wr and a defense that’s getting shredded is enough to make a final call on a qbs future.
 
So…what is a worse watch….UConn playing without the Head coach, QB and assorted other players. Or…the Jets tanking hard against the Patriots?

I honestly don’t know the answer.

Definitely the Jets are a worse watch, at least you had kids giving playing hard in that Fenway bowl in an outmatched game, 2 fake punts in a row lol why not just go for it. Common sense says you shouldn't fake a punt a 2nd time on the same drive.

Especially against what was a normal defense, not a punt return D.
 
Jets special teams are the only part of the team playing well…so they figured why not use them as much as possible…lol.
 
Why does Glenn deserve a second season? Give me one facet of this team that’s above a D- right now? Are we really a few first and second rounders and some FA money away from finishing above Buffalo and New England?

per Cimini..AG is making $10mm a year and Johnson will never eat the balance of his contract.

I am ok with him getting another year….but Mougey better have a plan on how to use those draft picks and cap space to get this team better next year. They can’t have another 10+ loss season next year and think they will keep their jobs.

It looks like the Raiders are going to get the first pick. So Mendoza is off the board. They need to hope Moore comes out.
 
Would you rather roll the dice with Moore, trade the draft pick treasure chest for Mendoza or sign Malik Willis?

If you assume both Moore and Simpson enter the draft and that the Jets stay at #3 (strength of schedule gets worse next week but so does the Titans) pick one of the QBs. The Giants will trade back from #2. If the Giants win #2 is Jets or Titans, another team not taking a QB. Chiefs could theoretically lose at Vegas, but the Titans won’t beat the Jags.

Short answer is Jets are in good shape for a QB without trading up, but can’t get Mendoza unless the Raiders win or make an unexpected decision.

If the Raiders get the first pick….they won’t be trading out. That’s why I was rooting for the Raiders yesterday…I wanted the Giants to get the first pick. The Giants screwed themselves and the Jets by winning…lol.

The thing is..if Moore doesn’t come out, the Jets are basically stuck. They can take a shot in the second round on a plan B qb like Tyler Shough.

I think they sign a vet AND draft a qb. They have so many needs, it’s hard to give up multiple picks for a questionable QB unless they are certain. They can’t Zach WIlson this.

But…they probably will.

The general consensus is that Simpson is not top 5 worthy. And…Moore still hasn’t decided if he is coming out. But…a lot can and will change the next few months.

I mean, the consensus was that Jayden Daniels wasn't top 5 worthy at this point in his senior year, no Bo Nix, nor Jaxson Dart and definitely not Penix. If Simpson declares and goes through evaluations, I think he's going in the top 5. I agree with you that unless the Chiefs lose to Vegas, the #1 pick is staying with the Raiders. The Jets have huge draft resources thanks to some really great trades. Pick a guy and then stock talent around him. Simpson looked very good in a comeback win against an extremely strong OU defense.

But…I can see this happening this weekend…the Giants win their game at 1pm giving the Jets a chance to move up to #2 and if Moore comes out, they should get a top QB. So Jet fans will go into the game at 4pm feeling good. I mean cmon..the game is at Buffalo. Oh wait…Josh Allen might not play…Buffalo isn’t really playing for anything.

Bottom line…the Jets will find a way to win and drop down to like picking 6.

I know…I know….I have Jets PTSD.

Without a doubt. Even though my head tells me their entire second string could beat us by 30.
 
FIrst of all…thank you to NYG!

Second…while tanking is unseemly…the Jets did what they had to do. Kinda felt bad for Brady Cook.

Now…since things never go well for the Jets…I expect Moore to stay at school. If that happens, I don’t know what they do with the #2 pick.

But…there is a lot of time between now and April. It will be curious to see if Moore and Mendoza are both there, who the Raiders will choose.

So far today, Stefanski, Carroll, Morris and Gannon were fired by lunch time. If Glenn were to go, I don't know why there'd be much delay in announcing it. So, I fear he may be back for another year.

If Moore stays another year, it is 100% he doesn't want to be a Jet. He's going #2 so he can't really improve his overall stock and he's risking injury. Peyton Manning returned to Tennessee instead of becoming a Jet so he wouldn't be the first.

Next year doesn't matter with or without him. They have so much to fix, anyone will look like an improvement. Next year is another 4 win season and either you drafted your QB this year or next. Then another 4-5 win season.

Glenn will get another season. He literally showed nothing as a head coach, but he'll be back.

That being said…he has made poor decisions…signing Fields…hiring Wilks.

I actually think the Jets QB role isn’t a bad place for a young QB. The OL is a strength of the team. Especially considering what Darnold and WIlson had when they came in. And…Raiders OL is a mess. Jets situation is better than the Raiders.
 
Todd McShay came out today advising Dante Moore to stay in school instead of going to the Jets. He said "There's not a single player in the draft, unless they grew up a Jets fan or have a family tie wants to be a New York Jet."

I'm not a Jets fan, but I have seen most of their games. There is just something seemingly so apathetic about the way they play. There's no life, no juice. It's one thing to be bereft of talent, but it's another to just watch a lifeless team. That reflects the coach and the hideous culture that has permeated this team post-Rex.

You're not wrong.

Take the Saints, for instance. They were 6-11 but Shough ended the season playing really well and they won 4 of their last 5. They played tough, showed heart and have something to build on.

The only thing the Jets have going for them right now is it can't get any worse. That's pathetic.

100%. What's truly horrible for a Jets fan is that last sentence has been uttered with most of their previous coaching staffs as well. Bowles had some initial success and then things happened that just were just odd and he definitely was not a NYC guy. Gaze from the opening press conference was an absolute ____show. Saleh, I think, could have worked out. But the team was so undisciplined, and he just seemed like a weird dude, and that was that. But those teams, at least for the most part, had "something." This year looked mostly lifeless the whole year.
