The Official 2025 New York Yankees Thread

Yankees just were spotted leaving Nordstom!!!

Camilo Doval!

Wow. Vrieling (#20) and Rodriguez (#26) were the only prospects in that haul there were on MLB.com's top prospects list.

Doval has two more years of control after this one.

I'm updating my own post to note that I hadn't fully read through the returns teams got for other (sometimes worse) relievers (sometimes pure rentals).

Cherington did indeed get taken like a schnook. Or the Mets overpaid for Helsley. Given it's the Pirates, I'm going with the first.
Drew Gilbert (in the Rogers trade) is the only prospect they may regret. They definitely did not overpay for Helsey.

Rogers/Helsey/Diaz are going to be very tough to overcome down the stretch + they upgraded in CF without giving up Baty, Vientos, Mauricio or Acuna. For the first time in a long, long time I feel the Mets are the team to beat in the NL.

Overall, I've been very satisfied with this trade deadline after adding three controllable high-end relievers and a much improved bench.

34 SBs?!?!?

Henderson is looking down right now goin', "Rickey would swipe 34 bags by May."

"Has anyone seen Marcus Stroman?"

"He gone!!"
Last night, I was wondering how they'd fit all these trade acquisitions. Now, it all makes sense.

Once Gil is back on Sunday, here's the starting rotation: Fried, Rodon, Gil, Warren, Schlittler.

Looking at the bullpen, Williams, Bednar, Doval, Weaver, Hill, Bird are the no-brainers to keep once everyone is healthy. Loasiga/Brubaker/Headrick are on the team now, but Cruz, Yarbrough and Leiter are awaiting return from injury. Personally, I'm not crazy about Leiter, so I'd prefer to keep Brubaker on the team over him.

Bird, Bednar and Volpe...LOLOLOL

da fook?

And can Rodon even get to the 6th inning anymore?

Anthony Volpe...what an enigma. Yankees better save this game.

F this team now they think it's all just gonna turn around now no dude it doesn't work like that, you can't just flip a switch.

I wanna see it happen, Judge needs to sit out the rest of the season
...and you're a Yankees fan?

I'm flying to Miami in a few for a cruise, en route to check into our hotel in South Beach around 3ish. My wife's family is going to be with us, so curious to see if father-in-law and I step out for today's game. We'll see!

I'm not getting my hopes up and getting jerked around like a damn yo yo and stressing out over this Cashman-Boone led team anymore. They don't deserve my support anymore and they don't deserve your support either.

I'll still be a fan but a more distant fan, I'm just done having hope for this team. If they make me eat crow I will gladly take it. This team just finds ways to lose their not gonna go anywhere I'm sorry.

Today, the Bombers went 2 for 27. So much for putting last night behind them.

These mental errors are so frustrating. Last night Jazz got doubled off first on a routine pop-up to the second baseman. This after Wells' goof the other night where he forgot how many outs there were. When your team is struggling to score runs, you can't keep giving up outs on stupid mental errors. Embarrassing to watch.

This was pretty great though. Such a well managed team.

Today, the Yankees were 6 for 33. Two home runs yield all three runs.

There are no rules, discipline, or ideas on this computerized version of the New York Yankees!
Aren't fundamentals being taught in the minors or majors?
Boone must have had dinner plans and knew Langford wasn't going to end the game with a HR so he walked him to allow Jung to end it so he could make his dinner plans!
Watching the Yankees now is like making small cuts on your wrists to slowly bleed to death!

I've been griping about the lack of fundamentals by players coming through the organization for at least four or five years now. On a meltdown after the WS last fall I posted on this board how the Yanks need to bring Buck into the front office, putting him in charge of fundamentals and letting him build a staff that teaches it from low A ball through the big league team.

I don't think Cashman places much importance on fundamentals and I don't think he has a clue how important they are.

I have given up on the Yankees. I have been a fan sincee the later 50' early 60's.

The trio of Steinbrenner, Cashman and Boone are a disaster. As long as these three remain, the Yankees are mediocre. It's a shame.
