Davis is so bad in the field. I still think I’d look to trade him to the AL so he can Dan Hurley.

I want to agree with this but he had some many soft throws to second on potential double plays that I don’t even like him there. He needs to spend the offseason learning to play some position at least passable.

He did make some bad throws but he has an absolute cannon for an arm. If anything it's more mental than physical

I knew karma was going to get him after he shot off his mouth during and after the Cleveland series. Still hasn't learned to just shut up and let his pitching do the talking. Now we're even more fringe than we were then.

I know people are high on Davis and tout him as one of BVW's master strokes, but I've been down on his defense from day one and I still think he gives up more than we gain with his bat. He needs to be shipped to the AL because he can't field to save his life.

As it turns out I won't be seeing the Nats game in DC on Labor Day, and I'm not that bummed about it because we have essentially taken ourselves out of the race now. Really doesn't matter much what Jake does tonight or if our offense will be anemic for him again. We can't beat the Dodgers or the Braves and we'll continue to flirt with mediocrity with the rest.

You could tell from the looks on their faces that that was it--for the season.

Oh well, it was a nice surprise to have meaningful games in August this season. Unfortunately we won't have any more.
