Of course the yankees can't win in extras at home against the oakland a's. So predictable probably a good thing it ended in 11 innings it probably would have taken 20 innings for the yankees to score the go ahead run. Yankees are just god awful in those situations score early but when the game is on the line 7th inning or later they fold like a paper tiger.

Yeah I feel the same way. For the past couple years I have zero confidence when they head to extra innings.

They are not gonna add anyone until they get below $189 million and reset their luxury tax rate. So don't expect a big signing until Harper becomes a FA in 2019.

Why can't Giradi let Eovaldi pitch when he is dealing? Does Betances have to pitch every day?

He was at 98 pitches, can't he go to 110 to pitch the eighth. I think Giradi will be even worse when Chapman gets back.

So I just went to MLB.com and clicked sortable team stats and THERE(!!!) with the Phillies and Rays are the Yankees with the most putrid offenses in baseball so far. 21 games in and a mere 72 runs.

Less than the Braves and Twinkies. Less than the Padres.

Nice choice of pitches a hanging deuce on the outside corner for him to flip to off the wall instead of gas at 98? This team is a joke in every sense - so glad I can't watch them up here. I actually forgot they were even playing the Sox until about 9pm that's how interesting this team is. I mean Headley has 2 rbi and moves the wrong way on a pitch which would have been a DP if he stayed put - now batting below .140 he's gross.

Funny thing is soon baseball will have a lot of teams like the Yanks if they start cracking down like the have with Colabello, Gordon it's coming. Just like Verlander alluded to it's still rampant and needs to be stopped. And the testing needs to come with more frequency so they can't figure it out and get by.

What are hey going to get in return? The better hitters are long in the tooth. Still, their bats could come live enough to challenge. The pitching is in place so it is too early to panic. The Yankees need to get younger.

Not to get anyone in return but to put some youth on the field as you say. They can't get anything for a texierra unless they pay most and a team has an injury, same with others. Cashman though he had a huge win with Chapman but made some real bad moves too. I mean the signing of Headley was gross and stupid, there were others available, not great mind you but more serviceable than he. Hicks I like but he may join the offense as yet another .220/.230 hitter but the guy can field and throw for sure, better than what they have. Keeping both Ellsbury (have to anyway with the ridiculous $$$$) and gardner wasn't a good move last year and now the will suffer with 2 streak as hell lefties at the top of the order. He needs to move on, all done!

That was a weak fastball for him too. That looked tired the other night vs Papi was just an awful pitch to throw.

Again major issues with this team 8-15 is about right. May get worst fast.

Our pitching staff brings tears to my eyes and then I think about our offense. This is shaping up to be a long season.
