The Mojo

A guy comes on the mojo thread and says “I don’t believe in mojo” and it’s my fault. Got it.
It's not your job to get believers to sign on - it's your job to make the non believers believers. That's when the magic happens. I was a non believer when "Winning" was announced. I was all in by the end. That was a brilliant campaign. This one had no legs.

The problem is there were multiple victims that would rally the cause. Some very obvious targets with some history here. Upstater has history but no juice. The gas bag was a nobody.

Felt like you were guided by your own personal dislike rather than a fair reading of the prevailing winds.
My mojo is typically off the charts. I thought everything about yesterday was weak.

I'm not going to get into the high level of religiosity required of 2014, but yesterday I had to go to a home for a plumbing call at noon, and those bastards had to break up the floor of the basement to get to a pipe. By 7 pm, they were still there. I was watching on my phone without UConn gear and without a beer. Not even my quick ducks into the Chat for a drive-by comment (always good for some UConn fuel) could save things.

How about this...what we post here has absolutely nothing to do with how the team plays. I truly believe that.
Then nothing that you post does. That’s a rule one of the mojo.

I never believed anything I posted had any effect on the teams play. I’m sitting on my couch....they’re on the court.

And since you never believed it, it doesn’t.

When I’m there in person screaming my head off with thousands of others, I am a true believer. Just can’t make that leap to a message board. That’s why I don’t make inane lineup or coaching suggestions...I just read everyone else’s.

And so your posts don’t matter. I’m agreeing with you.

I don’t care who believes or doesn’t believe. I only control what I can control.

Which just happens to be the annual hanging and sentence. You can’t victory dance when it all comes together and then throw your hands in the air and say “it’s not my fault“ when it doesn’t.

Maybe you should lay some blame off to your hangman.
Has Swami really done anything for years? He’s good for what a couple of posts annually? He needs to be out there enforcing the sentence.

I’m not sure you understand that is exactly how it works.

Which is not much from all appearances.
Yeah, yeah. The post loss finger pointing. All part of the Judge’s life here.

You shoulda coulda!!!! This too shall pass.

That’s fair, because I am growing increasingly concerned you don’t either.

That’s it. Let it all out.

Out with the hot air. In with the cool.
You know, it would be OK to say “Tom Brady? What the hell was I thinking? I’ll do better next year.”

The poison is strong in this one. Maybe light a lavender candle to sooth your inner hate.

LOL, my God, you can’t admit it can you? That’s too funny.

That’s fine Deep. Better luck next year.

Interesting that you don’t get it.

In the past I have hung myself, Fishy, August West....all resulting in 0 titles.

No difference in this year with TB and Charlie Sheen other than the adoption and execution. I’m not going to email every single poster and lobby for their support. That’s their choice and this year, you all made yours. :shrugs:

Here we can find some agreement. Charlie Sheen was a great idea and timely and it was adopted by the board. Tom Brady was a sucky idea in those some of us tried to prop it up as best we could but bad is bad. Your job as judge is to pick some thing that interesting and engaging. Your argument is essentially “ I picked a study of 18th century French poetry as our mojo rallying cry this year. It’s not my fault if people didn’t run with it.“

It’s fine Deep. I’m sure you did your very best. I’d like to say it was a plucky and gritty effort, but sadly it wasn’t even that.

It was a pretty pathetic sacrifice. If I were the mojo gods I would’ve had us lose by more.

I didn’t want to say it at the time, because I thought we were finally free of it, and the decision was already made; but a certain boatload of mojo via one of our most self-owning losers would have been a great candidate. Could have been a BY Exorcism in a sense. Alas

I like eighteenth century French poetry. :(

There was such an obvious choice. So obvious.

Ahhhh but there's where you're wrong. Charlie Sheen was no more timely or any greater of an idea. He seems as such because they won. And it was adopted by the OLD board. Not the newbie mouth breathers running rampant here now.

Listen. I get it. The loss stings. But there's a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking here, and that's okay. This place can be a Candy Land when I play 3D chess in March.
