Yes. I'm sure losers support lower standards.
So the number 1 team should have no problem beating the number 8 team right oh wait so now your saying it's unfair because Oregon got destroyed.

I'm sorry I disrespected a hypothetical 24th ranked uconn that would be invited to the broader more expansive tournament. What shall my penance be, sir?

When
If you’re a UConn you are insane if you don’t support a bigger field.
1st of all, the playoffs will expand. The P4 can't help themselves.

No. 2, I'll cross that bridge when it shows on the horizon. I.e. no time soon.

They just had their first winning season since 2010. I'm rooting for a major conference affiliation, but they will never be considered as an Independent.

They have to straighten out the CFP timeline. Everything else falls into place.

Only possible access to an unaffiliated improving program like ours is more participation. Competitors compete, unless they don't get a chance, ie are denied access.

And a tournament which overincludes is silly. Participation trophies so we all feel special gooder.

Up to your old tricks Patman. Sarcasm and insults are a poor replacement for wit and intelligence. Don't worry, we all still love you(sortof).

I care only about UConn, not some hypothetical dilution of the "product". We all know that every rule change is intended to keep the riff raff like us out of the CLUB and on the street. I will take anything that improves our odds of being a "participant" in the process. How many basketball championships would we lose if the rules for entry into the tournament never changed from the 70's?

I have honestly enjoyed the playoff but one thing i keep thinking about is I think the betting favorite has won all 10 of the first 10 games

Guessing you might be onto something there!! Frightening thought, but certainly not inconceivable.

Generally over a 10 game sample in the playoffs the favorite shouldnt win every time. For reference the NFL favorite are actually 5-5 (might be 6-4 but I forget who was the favorite in the washington/tampa game). In a normal year I would expect the favorites to be in the neighborhood of 7-3 over a 10 game sample

Worth watching as time marches on.

Either Untie the Quarterfinals from the Bowls or untie the Bowls from New Years Day. There is still nearly 2 full weeks between the 1st round and New Years Day as the article currently proposes.

A 4-round tournament should last just over three weeks, beginning to end.

Also get rid of Week Zero.

I think that's ultimately it, its the politicking involving the current bowl game environment. Lets face it, the big 5-6 bowls are effectively dead at this point.

edit: What should happen? the week after the conference title games should be your first round. The rest can be worked from there. If army/navy become a real issue make a clause for army/navy that says the CinC game can be moved until after the CFP if either qualify for it. While it would be funny to see a national champion army/navy get upset by their rival after the title game we're not talking about something that's likely to happen

edit #2: I know Air Force can still win the CinC trophy
