Guessing you might be onto something there!! Frightening thought, but certainly not inconceivable.I have honestly enjoyed the playoff but one thing i keep thinking about is I think the betting favorite has won all 10 of the first 10 games

Generally over a 10 game sample in the playoffs the favorite shouldnt win every time. For reference the NFL favorite are actually 5-5 (might be 6-4 but I forget who was the favorite in the washington/tampa game). In a normal year I would expect the favorites to be in the neighborhood of 7-3 over a 10 game sampleGuessing you might be onto something there!! Frightening thought, but certainly not inconceivable.

I think that's ultimately it, its the politicking involving the current bowl game environment. Lets face it, the big 5-6 bowls are effectively dead at this point.Either Untie the Quarterfinals from the Bowls or untie the Bowls from New Years Day. There is still nearly 2 full weeks between the 1st round and New Years Day as the article currently proposes.
A 4-round tournament should last just over three weeks, beginning to end.
Also get rid of Week Zero.
Tough to sustain interest that long if your team isn’t still involved:I wish the schedule wasn't as spread out as it was. The CFP needs to resolve well before the NFL division championship games. Honestly, it probably should finish before the semifinals. Also, is Monday night really preferable to a Friday? Or Thursday? Seems like a missed opportunity tbh.
I thought the 12-team CFP playoff was a moderate success.
It was a big success, there is no disputing that. I thoroughly enjoyed the playoffs. I would expand to four more teams.Moderate? Pretty big success I'd say.
“Expanded” for sure…
The FCS Championship game this year was played on January 6th.

Indeed. Who doesn't like to see the kids table battle it outOnce the B1G and Sec split? Absolutely.
If and when the SEC/B1G split from everyone else, everyone else will need a fun and engaging model to keep eyeballs. 40 team playoff would be one way to differentiate. Inclusive, not exclusive, etc.
Why watch B1G/SEC when you can watch NFL?Indeed. Who doesn't like to see the kids table battle it out
There's a lot of people who say thatWhy watch B1G/SEC when you can watch NFL?
Because the NFL doesn't have near the number of games on on a Saturday that the BIG/SEC does. Why watch B1G/SEC when you can watch NFL?
The highest I think they should go is 24 and model it after the FCS playoffs. Is anyone on board with my idea of a 40 team playoff?
